While in this case I would totally understand how Al would feel slighted and I do think (based on the available information) the “FIX” camp likely jumped the gun on this . . . assuming Al is getting proceeds from this film in one way or another, he would be crazy not to want it to debut at this event.
I just get nervous when I see these reports as I’m still fearful the entire project might get put on ice, entangled in legal implications and whatnot.

There was a fued? Kinda weird that they weren’t invited. Mostly Sascha. Al probably made too many enemies, especially with the “I ran wax trax” line of his. But why Sascha?

Why would Sasha and KMFDM be declined on their offer to play? I know Al couldn’t really do any of his WaxTrax stuff anymore, but I guarantee Sasha could put a retro set together with ease. I guess there is bad blood there that I’m unaware of.
I like how they can say that REVCO and KMFDM are not playing, when the bands playing those songs now include more original members of said bands than the people with the actual legal right to call themselves REVCO and KMFDM.
I would actually be slightly less excited if Al was appearing because of the amount of tip toeing on eggshells it seems people have to do around him. Seems his attendance would have just made things unnecessarily tense/complicated.

I agree. The drama with every practice session, the backstage bickering and cry sessions, the chaos surrounding something as simple as putting a set list together.
Don’t get me wrong . . . in my idealistic Utopia they’d all start fresh, tongue kiss each other, and jump on stage like it was 1988. But the dynamics of it just don’t work right now. I’d rather see onstage chemistry between guys who are proud of the legacy they’ve left and have a passion for performing these songs that the fans are just as passionate about.

“We are excited and honored that long time Wax Trax! all-star, Mark Durante, will perform with multiple bands at April’s RETROSPECTACLE. Durante was one of the label’s original secret weapons, and responsible for much of the violent guitar sound that defined many of the label bands.”

I wonder who really wrote this? Nobody from Chicago ever specifies that it’s in Illinois. Because really, it’s Illinois that needs to identify with Chicago…not the other way around. And…nobody in Chicago ever says “the Metro”. Just an observation.
Regarding this official statement: sounds to me like some are trying to sound relevant when they have already been written off as irrelevant. This event has absolutely nothing to do with Ministry and was never implied to be.
KMFDM and Revolting Cocks will NOT be attending or performing at this event.
No-one has ever said Revolting Cocks or KMFDM will be playing. The official press release stated the names of members who are associated with the bands’ histories but in no way was it ever implied that Ministry, Revco or KMFDM will be performing.
On that note, Sasha was never declined to perform by anyone, and this I heard from people close to him.

Hope to see many of you at Metro for the Wax Trax weekend - they have already sold out all seats for both nights as well as the VIP tables. Should be an amazing time.
I’m starting to wonder what Barker/Connelly/Van Acker are gonna bust out. Will it just be waxtrax stuff or will they touch anything from Linger Ficken Good. I mean since Durante will be playing with them it’d make sense to bust out some of the more guitar heavy RevCo trax. And that stage is gonna be crowded for the Watts/Schulz/Esch set if Durante is joining them. Also wondering if they’ll bust out some PIG since Watts had 2 albums on waxtrax

Threw a banner together, probably gonna be nerding out and making a bunch of promo ads for fun until this thing hits in April. I hope they have some cool new merch, i.e. shirts, stickers, posters, Wax Trax Video Sampler DVDs (that would be a big score)… My butt should be in bed!

I think that the addition of Lead Into Gold, solo Chris Connelly and Luc Van Acker material would be huge to this event, but it may not even be possible. The multimedia presentations might take up half of the time, who knows. It’s just a big fat mystery until we get there…

It looks like the non-Wax Trax! band Bahntier is also playing at this festival, as part of their tour with the Thrill Kill Kult.
I’m pretty choked. I didn’t think it would sell out so fast! I didn’t get a chance to get a ticket :’(
I’ll bet everyone on Stainless Steel Providers and Attack Ships. Obvious ones. Maybe we’ll finally get to hear No Devotion for the first time in probably decades.
