his basic point is that it’s no different than the album version other than the fact that they do a “fade out” earlier in the song. there are no changes in anything other than the length of the song.
yes, exactly
unlike other cases where single or video or other version, that is shorter than the album one, has extra or different elements, parts or samples… for example NWO, J1F and JBMHR video edits or Work For Love 7"
On that subject, though, is there a difference between the “Short Version” from the flexidisc (which I have) and the “Cut To The Chase Edit” that I can’t recall the source of?
Boy oh boy does Self Annoyed really sound like Ogre. It really does. If it is Al, he sure had a Bowie/Iggy fixation where he was trying mega hard to ape his vocals…
The ending of Hail To His Majesty sounds very similar to the guitar riff from The Game Is Over.
The guitar riff from Let’s Be Happy was clearly re-used in Happy Dust.
The drum tracks in “Same Old Scene” sound very similar to “Everyday Is Halloween”. The bridge with the synth horns near the end also reminds me of the scratching bridge in Halloween. Could be my imagination too!

It definitely does sound like he’s going for the “ogre” vocal sound. I think it’s just another example of Al being heavily influenced by the supremely talented and original artists he was around and working with so closely at the time.
Chickenshit was a John Cale cover. It was played live on the European 991 tour and on Chris Connelly’s 1992 tour. It was never officially released and likely wasn’t ever recorded in the studio. I was supposed to be on Chris Connelly’s live Rock N Roll Amphibian album, but was scrapped when he was told the recordings weren’t good enough quality for official release.
I think you’re thinking of Stick. That was on Initials CC. But not on this.

That was also Revolting Cocks in name only. It was the first thing Al and Chris did togethre, and I believe Chris just put the RevCo name on it for his album 'cause he didn’t know what else to call it.

“Stick” is what became “I Will Refuse.” How that slipped from Al’s “vault” to Connelly’s is unknown to me.
