The Thread About NOTHING!

Damn, Dude! You made me tear up there.
That was beautiful.
Best wishes for you and your family.

I’m really sorry about your dog. They are definitely part of your family.

My deepest condolences. :frowning:

I’ve been there myself with a couple pets.
My current pet mourned the loss of the other pet for several months afterward.

Sorry dude. Had to put my cat down last year and it was so fucking hard to deal with. 6yrs old and got cancer. We have a new madman running around the house so it’s all good now!

I remember in another thread we started talking about sodas from the past. One of mine has resurfaced over the past couple months, Surge. Coca-Cola has been selling 12 packs of 16 oz cans for $14 on Amazon. Needless to say that I broke down and bought one, despite the ridiculous price. To me it doesn’t really taste the same, but that’s probably because of the imitators that came around when Surge was discontinued. But it’s still pretty damn good though, and 2 cans didn’t really phase me at all. Makes me wish more old sodas would come back. Slice I’m looking at you!

Yeah I remember when they changed the Mr.Pibb original formula and it was never the same…broke my heart…

Mr. Pibb is bullshit. Dude didnt even get his degree

Some of the old classics are back but hard to find as they do limited runs. A number of specialty shops carry them. I came across Cactus Cooler a while back and nearly crapped my pants with excitement.

You should really take a quick run through the East Bay sometime. You can find Cactus Cooler just about everywhere for 99 cents a bottle. I think that even goes for 2 liters some places.

Primus with both Herb and Danny Carey 12/31 at the Fox in Oakland CA. I think I’d go see that. I used to be a big Primus fan, the early stuff anyway.

The link doesn’t mention anything about Danny being there but I get Primus newsletter. Relevant text below…

The Uber Drum Spectacular
New Years Eve

On the heels of a very successful Primus and the Chocolate Factory tour, Danny Carey will join Les, Larry and Tim on New Years Eve at the Fox Theater in Oakland, CA. The Uber Drum Spectacular promises to be a one of kind performance to ring in the New Year. There’s a limited number of tickets left.

Saw them on nov 21 at the orpheus. simply phenomenal they played mostly pork soda frizzle fry and seas of cheese. Watching him play my name is mud is simply astounding. They cam out for the second act and played the chocolate album in its entirety (excellent album if you havent heard it) id go to another primus concert in second.

DAMN!!! I would see that Primus show. Frizzle Fry and Seas of Cheese are the only discs I owned, but I remember Pork Soda too. I’d only avoided them as I figured they’d be plunkin’ around with 80% of noodling crap I’d never heard of.

They were beyond good. My only complaint, if there was one to be had, is that they took huge liberties with extending their solos in the middle of the songs. I think there were only 2 songs post pork soda and they were big brown beaver and southbound pachyderm other than that it was all the first 3 albums, they even played the seas of cheese intro! I cant say enough good things about the show. People were cool, songs were on point, awesome song selection, merch was cool (i got a pork soda bar - dark chocolate with bacon flavoring and pop rocks! Fuckin delicious.) hell, i bought a bootleg shirt for 5 bucks after the show, even the bootleggers were good! Ha!

Hey everyone!!!

Apparently Korn were all tweakers back when they recorded their “classic” debut.

No…you’re not seeing things. I DID just type that.

Don’t believe me?

It would certainly explain a lot. I’m glad my generation JUST missed out on nu-metal.

Those guys…

Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, bass - When I would want to slap my bass, I wanted it to sound like it was being slapped. I didn’t want it to sound like a bass; I wanted it to sound like if you slapped a string. I don’t even like bass, to tell you the truth – it makes me nauseous.

[shocked]

WOW!

Move over Dostoevsky…!!!

Korn. What’ll they think of next?

I’m not sure how this is any sort of “revelation”. Head and Fieldy have both done autobiographies in which the meth was pretty well covered.

Saw John Oliver last night at the Westbury Theatre.

John was great but a 16oz beer cost $11 bucks! So in like 10 yrs a beer will be like $20.00!!!

The beers were 14 dollars each at the Wiltern. To put that into perspective, imagine spending $70 for a six pack of beer. I go into Bevmo wit $70, I fill up the shopping cart.

I’m going to see D.R.I. tonight in the hood of Miami…beers will be $2 for 16 ouncer’s…
