The Chicago Set List Surprise!!

i was a fool. so quick to forgive, i was blinded to the sarcasm. :frowning:

No reviews from the final night? It’s kinda quiet over at PA, too.

1002

same setlist, all four nights.

So all that came from the “you never know who will show up, we practice a bunch of extra song in case so and so turns up” was Wayne Static reading lyrics from a note card one night in LA? wow.

All four nights.

Ain’t that a BITCH…

Well at least they ended up with some of our money…that’s the important thing!

OK - So what??? For one, it may be getting a bit repititous for Al and maybe that’s why he’s retiring Ministry as well. I know he said all that about this person showing up or that and opening the catalogue and it fell through but that’s Al. Anyone who knows Ministry should not have too high expectations. And it was still a really good show and a bit of history. He did say a couple times that it was the final show for Ministry in Chicago and he sounded a bit sad. We talked a bit after the show and he signed the Ministry logo above my Ministry inspired tattoo - I’m getting it inked tonight. It’s the end of really great band and I’ll miss them. I’m 47 years old, I’ve been to more concerts than I can count and Ministry is my all time favorite band. They define heavy metal. I also give him credit becaus he gave up a HUGE career to do his own thing on a smaller scale. Their show at the Riv with Disturbed and ATR is one of the top couple shows I’ve ever been too and I’m just really glad I was there last night and payed the extra money for the VIP tix.

So long Ministry - It’s been a great run and I hope you do a reunion thing some day!

Man it seems like Prongs is getting an influx Of Piss Ants! lately! I wonder if Angie has offered to pay them for their time to come spread their Nu Ministry Commercials around!

well ,as far as angie voluntarily paying anybody for anything except according to some wacky concept of “scale” like actors get, or union wages---- that’s a stretch.
probably just nudging the troops so that there isn’t a meltdown of requests for refunds from fans who felt they got stiffed.
i, for one, hope it happens.(the meltdown)

Whoa.

They define heavy metal.

Double whoa.

I don’t think Angie is nudging anyone to do anything. Some of you here seem really excessively negative. Some of you may have a personal past with Al or Angie and may have a beef but then there are others who seem like they are just in a bad mood all the time. I complained about the set list, VIP rip off, and other stuff as much as anyone else. Then I went to the show and had a fantastic time. I knew what it was going to be so I accepted and enjoyed what there was to enjoy. I had a great experience and I feel like I got my money’s worth. Angie is certainly not nudging me to say this… I have never talked to her. I’m just giving a rational honest opinion. Take it or leave it.

Yeah but You’ve also been here on the board you’re not just showing up out of the the woodwork to praise all that is new ministry, and lay down your opinion as fact. I too had a good time at the concert. (left my resentment on the door step of the show) But I can’t help the sympathy that comes with knowing others got horked pretty bad!

everybody’s opinion is welcome. that’s the first amendment my friend.

I didn’t say they couldn’t have them. I think some opinions are heavier than others…just sayin’

I’m not a big message board person. I’ve posted here and there in the past, in fact I am (or was) on the PA. But I had heard rumors before Thursdays show and wanted to get more info. They are my favorite band and I will continue to listen and enjoy them. I’ll try and post a pic of the tat when it’s done - it’s pretty kewl. And believe, I’m not some weirdo-groupie-wanna-be or anything - Ministry just reaches down in my soul and gets me going - like they did last night.

The weird thing is, even though I “grew up” at the same time as Ministry, I was never a huge fan until I saw them a few years ago at that Riv show - I think it was the FP tour- I fell in love and I actually did know a lot of their songs anyway. I’ve seen them every time they’ve stopped in Chicago since. So that’s my two cents.

BTW - Can someone post the link for PA? I can’t find it anywhere and I’m still a member. I’d like to see what other people are posting. ~Thanks!

LOL

Boo-hoo same setlist… Fuck that. Who cares. Did you have fun? Was it worth it seeing al play a show? Didn’t you think burton really added to the vibe? If you’ve been to past tours where they played all the old songs, why complain? You already saw they play those songs. He’s put out a few recent albums and wants to do that material. He’s made a big deal about the whole anti-bush trilogy and going out with W into the sunset. SO one would assume he’d play that stuff. The only thing that sucks is that people keep saying it was advertised as a collective of all the old and new… Which i never really understood where that came from. Yeah you may assume on his C-u-latour he’d play it all, but then that’d be more of an anniversary tour. The guys almost 50. I’m surprised he’s even able to do what he did at the NYC show for a guy his age. Especially after how he treated his body for all those years. And the line-up band wise is great. They played a tight set and that’s all that really matters. And then you get an encore where they loosen up and fuck around with a few covers and you all act like it’s like they fucking took a shit with the lid down in your bathroom.

No.

Waste of time.
Waste of money.
Raping of faith.
Raping of appreciation.

Pathetic attempt to close a chapter that was only 50% his.
What a son of a bitch.

Prongs was a home for the REAL ministry fans.

We’re pissed. Fuck off and keep pretending.

I second the lulz. [laugh]

i’m happy chicago is over.
i guess the thought was to keep a rythym going about coming home .here.
al’s not a native, so there you go. maybe the hype of “running” wax trax will come back to slap him in the ass.
i wish him infinite amounts of happiness and future offspring. no, not the band type.

He may not be a native, but his career was born in chicago! Glad this tour is over, and we can just let him go off to europe now and play the same thing again and again now. Just put the damn thing out of it’s misery already!
