I liked the lawyer too. He was one of the two cops who was trying to track down Arthur Fleck in “Joker.”

Oh man. The Outsider was great. It’s definitely a Stephen King story with the supernatural element. I woulda been pissed if I read it, though. I dont like when King presents the supernatural late in the story. I think That’s why I like The Talisman and The Dark Half because the Supernatural element is right there and starts the books off. This story is presented as normal real world and you don’t get hit with the supernatural 'til roughly halfway through. So, As a show I’m cool with it, but as a book I woulda been pissed cause I woulda seen it as lazy writing. He starts out with a great situation and then gets stuck trying to explain it so he writes in demons. Boooooooo. Works as a TV show though.

One quick question though. What happened to Ralph’s kid? Did I miss an explanation on how he died? or is it always he just “died young?”

Also, did you watch the extras? I tripped out when I saw what the actress who plays Holly looks like normally… And she’s british to boot. Her American accent is perfect, it rivals Hugh Laurie’s. Anyway, thanks for the recommend it was a great series.

King always writes himself into a corner. The endings of “It” and “The Stand”… don’t get me started. Hell, the ending of “The Dark Tower” novels is iffy, and that was a seven-book lead-up.

My problem with the novel is that it took so long for the characters to come around to Holly’s way of seeing things, when in fact King could have thrown in some more scares (like the miniseries) to convince them.

Ralph’s kid just “died young.” He was alive – and at summer camp – for the book.

I didn’t watch the extras, but did you catch the final shot after the credits, of Holly looking up things on the Web with that long scratch on her arm? Coulda been falling rock, coulda been Outsider-infection…

The Invisible Man is fucking awesome…tense, unsettling, creepy and awesome a fuck…great atmosphere, great acting , great set design… same director of my favorite movie of last year,Upgrade…Loved it…

Doctor Sleep…Pretty mediocre…had high hopes that were quickly dashed

I did, but I didn’t see any scratch. She see’s jack behind her in the mirror and turns around and he’s not there then she freaks out and looks at her neck with a small mirror but I didn’t see a scratch on her neck or arm and she seems to be relieved that she doesn’t see one either. I’ve gotta watch the last three again anyway cause my wife fell asleep midway through number 8.

I don’t think Holly ever got close enough to the outsider to get scratched. I think Ralph and Andy were pretty much the only ones close enough to touch her. I guess Jack did when her held her hand down on the steering wheel but that wasn’t a scratch… I’ll have to pay attention to her physical interactions when I rewatch it tonight.

I fell down a weird rabbit hole on YouTube and at some point heard about PUTNEY SWOPE, a movie from 1969, directed by Robert Downey Sr. (yes, the dad). Holy shit, this movie is insane!!! It really seems like an unintentional trail blazer for so many genres and movements of film . . . comedy, “blaxploitation”, beat/poetry, parody stuff like “Kentucky Fried Movie” / “Airplane”, John Waters’ style trash cinema, and even the artsy fartsy druggie shit like Jodorovsky’s “Holy Mountain” or something. It’s really fucking bananas and I’m kind of still processing it, hahahaha.

Jello talks about it in one of his Spoken Word Albums.

Maybe that’s where I heard the name. I totally knew the NAME of the movie and figured it’d been used as a cultural reference point, but I knew nothing else about it.
Also reminded me of that Dudley Moore movie “CRAZY PEOPLE” where they make a wild success telling the truth with advertising (“Jaguar: For Men Who Want Handjobs From Women They Don’t Know”).

I was hoping the Wiki article on the movie would give more touchpoints about it’s cultural impact and relevance, but it’s really bare. I’ll have to research shit the old fashioned way, haha.

As far as I know it really is a forgotten film that has a cult following at best

I got bored on Amazon Prime one night recently and came across a short movie called “The Velocipastor.” It’s exactly what you think it is. I strongly recommend a watch, and I refuse to talk about it until you’ve seen it.

There ya go.

A dinosaur priest? ?

Alright, I rewatched it. I saw the scratch. but I was also looking for the interaction where she got it. She got nowhere near el coco except to stab him in the heart. His hands were incapacitated and she was wearing a denim jacket so no chance of a scratch there. SO if she did get scratched it wasn’t in the last episode.

Also, I noticed the last episode says “season Finale” not “Series Finale.” So maybe they just added that shit at the last minute as a way to bring it back. I doubt she’s infected though. Especially with how odd her brain wiring is I can’t imagine the Coco could do anything with her.

But some odd things… she didn’t know who Terry was in the cave… “Terry who?” she says “oh nobody just the whole reason youre involved in this case,” should have been the correct line read after that. Also she says she hates music but at the end she’s looking up The terry maitland case listening to music. So is she a vessel? I don’t know where she would got scratched at? the only time coulda been when Jack basically kidnapped her in the car. Cause other than that she has no interactions with the infected.

Yep! And ninjas, as if you need any more reason to watch…

I don’t think she’s infected, I think the “scratch” was just a playful Easter Egg. Bah. Maybe it was a piece of her hair.

Bloodshot & John Wick 3…both were very good action movies.

Jumanji: The Next Level…fun stuff, I enjoyed it…I liked the first one better.

The Invisible Man…Holy shit did that suck.

Aquaman…typical comic book movie…it was pretty good.

I watched Jumanji 2 with a friend. Not bad – good wholesome fun, kept me smiling, just like the first one. I gotta say, tho, I’ll take Kevin Hart’s impersonation of Daniel Glover over The Rock’s piss-poor impersonation of Danny DeVito any day. DeVito is so full of tics and nuances that I gotta imagine he’d be easy to pull off, which makes The Rock’s failure all the more glaring. Too bad: I love The Rock. (But I love DeVito waaaay more – he’s my spirit animal.)

“JOJO RABBIT” – This movie is pretty awesome. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was quite intelligent and tells the story of a kid in Nazi Germany who dreams of being a great Nazi and earning the favor of Adolf Hitler, who is also his imaginary friend and inspiration throughout the film. He eventually learns that Nazis aren’t quite as awesome as he was led to believe and he has to reconcile some things as his mother is also hiding a teenage Jewish girl in the walls of the house. I was afraid it would either be irreverent slapstick nonsense or go heavy and beat me over the head with some blunt social message but it managed to be incredibly sweet and thoughtful and still funny. It handled death, betrayal, redemption and many other topics with dignity while also entertaining us with some lunacy. Sorry for my lame TV guide version review, but I didn’t want to put too much specific stuff in case anyone actually planned on seeing it.
