Ministry: AmeriKKKant

Wargasm has already been performed, there are live versions of it on Youtube.

Now the the music video and official announcement stuff is out, all of Ministry’s social media presence and Youtube videos are in the middle of a toxic shitstorm of angry conservative ex-fans. It’s been the highlight of my slow work day watching them have these overly-long, profane meltdowns that invariably include some reference to everyone else but them being thin-skinned and easily-offended.

Song’s not bad, though there being a song called “4chan” does not bode well. I think he’s juuuust too out-of-touch to realize that at this point the #Anonymous, Guy Fawkes Mask types more often than not are the ‘alt-right’ Trump fans

I was amazed at the number of thumbs down on the video !

Sock accounts or is it actual genuine hatred of it ?

Song sounded decent live, but that video. . . I had to turn it off.

Not a lot to say about the song; I like the riff at the beginning, but overall it’s kinda business as usual, nothing remarkable.

The video is dumb, but I’d be shocked if Al put out a video that wasn’t dumb at this stage in his career… Every video for any Al-related project since the ones for Rio Grande Blood and Cocked & Loaded have been bad. The only one I liked was the one for I’m Invisible, and that was dumb too, but it worked for it.

Apparently these ex-fans missed the last 35 years of Al’s political lyrics.

Unless they’re downvoting the video because it’s so amateurish and because the song is pretty mediocre. I can get behind that.

Just saw the video.

I think this is the look Al was going for:

I kind of like the song, it’s nothing ground breaking - but it’s fun. Of course the lyrics are garbage but it’s kind of funny garbage so that makes it more entertaining - plus it seems to be pissing off people I like to see pissed off, so that’s a plus.

The video was so wonderfully bad. My favorite bit is seeing Scrawny Jourgenson in the goofy mask with dreads, putting his hand on his hip like a cheerleader before doing his “mock fascist” salute. Edgy Al, very very edgy.

Remember when the similarly awful No W video came out?
I said on here that Al should’ve given the same budget to a bunch of film school students. The students would spend 90% of that budget on pizza and beer and STILL come up with a far superior video.
The same still holds true.

No W was pretty bad but I’m downright nostalgic for it after the ones we’ve gotten for “Ghouldiggers”, “Fire Engine”, “The Last Sucker”, “Permawar”, “99 Percenters”, and so on… Now including this. That Passero guy’s style just irks me overall.

I guess the big takeaway is that Al looks like one of the enemies from the Batman Forever game on the SNES.

That pretty much wraps up my thoughts about the matter.

First Ministry album on cassette since Dark Side Of The Spoon.

Also it looks like none of the formats have bonus tracks, unlike the last couple albums.

Corrosion of Conformity recently one upped all the cassette revivalists and released their new record on 8- track…

I noticed that. Looks like I’ll go digital only then. I don’t need any more physical product in my life unless I’m getting something extra for it.

Do they have physical product now?

I’m a music fan, not a goddamned venture capitalist. Take that producer credit and cram it. In fact, ALL this bullshit crowdfunding jibber jabber can lick my doodoohole.

If you don’t have enough faith in your product to actually MAKE it and try to sell it, bahhhh, fuck off. I’ll just go buy some Great White cassettes at the car wash instead.

But, hey, I did get a flimsy ass booklet of photos from that shithead Omar Mena after harassing him for only two years, hahaha.

Here’s my interview with Al about the album: https://thevoidreport.com/2018/03/02/interview-al-jourgensen-talks-art-politics-new-ministry-lp-amerikkkant/

Joey out, new guy back in. This is a good thing…

Industrial metal pioneers MINISTRY have once again recruited Derek Abrams to play drums on their upcoming North American tour, which kicks off Thursday night (March 22) at the House Of Blues in Anaheim, California. Abrams originally joined MINISTRY last year and sat behind the kit for the band’s fall 2017 run of dates.
Says Abrams in a statement: “I’m super excited to get back out on the road with MINISTRY for the 2018 North America tour that kicks off [Thursday] in Anaheim. I can’t express enough gratitude to the band and crew to be able to be a part of this family. I look forward to seeing you at a show. If we don’t hit your city this time, there is a chance we will in the fall.”
Although it was announced last month that Joey Jordison would join MINISTRY on the road in North America this spring and he took part in some of the early rehearsals for the trek, the former SLIPKNOT drummer is no longer taking part in the tour.
The rest of the tour’s guest lineup will feature vocalist Burton C. Bell (FEAR FACTORY), and live scratcher DJ Swamp (BECK, THE CRYSTAL METHOD), who will join longtime bandmembers Sin Quirin and Cesar Soto on guitars, Tony Campos (FEAR FACTORY, STATIC-X, ASESINO, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY) on bass, and keyboardist John Bechdel (KILLING JOKE, FEAR FACTORY).

Hilarious. I bet the check didn’t clear.

HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

That is fucking funny.
I hate Joey anyway.
But yeah, what a laugh.

I can’t tell you how many times Ministry announces some new member only to replace them 5 minutes before curtain.
