Ministry: AmeriKKKant

Honestly, Ministry hasn’t announced a new member in a few years. Mandy announced herself and then that ReGen industrial blog picked it up.

But, Roy Mayorga, Jason Christopher, Cesar Soto, Thomas Holtgreve (think he played drums on a UK your), and Derek Abrams have never been announced in any official way. They just appear in rehearsal photos or you figure it out through social media sleuthing.

Poor Jordison didn’t even make it that far. Thank God.

Remember the Monte Pittman fiasco?

What was that, anyway? I’ve heard people reference something ridiculous happening there but I never heard any specifics.

I can hardly keep up with lineups anymore, it changes so much. The sound doesn’t change though, so whoever is in the band isn’t really adding character.

Yeah I came here to post the same thing…the guys in these current line-ups are pretty interchangeable…

well said.

Jello Biafra needs to be the new singer of gwar. i dont give 2 fucks your opinion, that needs to happen.

Remember the Monte Pittman fiasco?

Hahahaha! His tenure was so fleeting I forgot.

I also remember my utter disbelief: “Madonna has a guitar player?”

I will say that Jason Christopher added a ton of energy to the live show. Not sure why he got booted or left, I think maybe Al is just better buds with Campos.

Man, the merch booth sucks balls!! 2 (barely) new designs. No hoodies. No zip ups. A tmiatttt long sleeve. A last sucker holdover tshirt. A generic beanie with block lettering. The album. Some pick necklaces. A bandana and a patch. Just miserable!

On a better note ol’ voidy rocked it. He sounded good. He actually had quite a few people on the floor for his set. His drums definitely drive the music and they are fat and in your face. My how the boy has progressed. I never would’ve believed it after seeing how he started.

Did he play Tiki tiki or Big Mama?[/reply]
No!! Boooooooooooo

The God Bombs set list:

Possession
Hexxx
Breed
Low Lights
Sociopath
Castrate Me
Control
Killing an Arab

Thomas Holtgreve (think he played drums on a UK your)

I think this kid played BOTB in May also.
Acid Cripple can probably confirm if it was him.
I might be confused with some other cog that lasted 5 minutes.

With all the shuffling of members, though . . . aside from the one time I saw Joey Jordison on drums, I’ve never thought, “Oh, damn, this guy sucks”. They never miss a beat. It’s actually quite impressive considering.

And fuck Mandy Martyr. I hope Aaron is happy with that bony boat anchor.

Joey out, new guy back in. This is a good thing…

Industrial metal pioneers MINISTRY have once again recruited Derek Abrams to play drums on their upcoming North American tour, which kicks off Thursday night (March 22) at the House Of Blues in Anaheim, California. Abrams originally joined MINISTRY last year and sat behind the kit for the band’s fall 2017 run of dates.
Says Abrams in a statement: “I’m super excited to get back out on the road with MINISTRY for the 2018 North America tour that kicks off [Thursday] in Anaheim. I can’t express enough gratitude to the band and crew to be able to be a part of this family. I look forward to seeing you at a show. If we don’t hit your city this time, there is a chance we will in the fall.”
Although it was announced last month that Joey Jordison would join MINISTRY on the road in North America this spring and he took part in some of the early rehearsals for the trek, the former SLIPKNOT drummer is no longer taking part in the tour.
The rest of the tour’s guest lineup will feature vocalist Burton C. Bell (FEAR FACTORY), and live scratcher DJ Swamp (BECK, THE CRYSTAL METHOD), who will join longtime bandmembers Sin Quirin and Cesar Soto on guitars, Tony Campos (FEAR FACTORY, STATIC-X, ASESINO, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY) on bass, and keyboardist John Bechdel (KILLING JOKE, FEAR FACTORY).

Yes, I would have to concur…this young buck, Derek Abrams is a killer good drummer…don’t know if he’s better than Jordison but judging from the live footage on YouTube of the 1st 3 shows…he hits those skins like a true champion virtuoso percussionist. Next to Bill Rieflin & da nice Spanish fella w/red hair from like 2 years ago…this new chap comes close if not just as good as those fuckers…I luv him & think he’s bloody freakin terrific [:P][pirate][laugh][cool][;)]

Perhaps Jordison was being obscenely autocratic and maybe he was demanding too much money as well…perhaps Jordison is just a royal pain in the ass & has no place being with Ministry again. Or maybe they’ll just get together & reconvene for another time.

I am very happy with this Tour’s Line-Up…Ministry Rules…however, throwing in some unlikely choices in the setlist along with playing some otherwise ignored classics versus the usual played-out ones, is of the indisputable & indubitably~profound~long~overdue~~Essence!! Maybe Al made him cry again and Tommy Victor showed up just to steal his cocaine. [angelic]

I keep hoping for Ministry-branded canola oil and honey.

Fuck, I miss Tommy Victor, man…he did sum great shit with the almighty Ministry…but I gotta say Sin Quirin & Cesar Soto hold up the Fort pretty damn well there, hey!! [;)]

Uncle Al is rather fortunate to have such good peeples with nice steeples working for him…and make no mistake Al Fuckin Jourgensen is a true-to-form bonafide fuckin genius…like SiriusXM, yo!! [;)][:P][:)][pirate]
[pirate][pirate][pirate] Sorry, I’m an Emoji Hog, lololol…

Has anyone seen the vinyl yet? Record stores around here still don’t have it.

Getting shit at stores is spotty unless you make sure to TELL your shop to order something for you. I’ve seen several people get the vinyl, though. The red and black one is really gorgeous.

I don’t have a favorite song on this album. I definitely like the album probably the most out of the last 18 years but one song doesn’t stand out more than any other … perhaps Twilight Zone but it’s only cause I keep waiting for him to finish the Filth Pig Harmonica solo. The whole album runs together as one long song for me, but I like it because it’s slower and it has more mood than any album since Darkside or Filth… but it’s definitely no Darkside or Filth Pig. It fits in pretty decently after Darkside instead of Animositisomina. I aint reviewing my song by song take on it cause it’s already been done Ad Nauseam.
