JKB Overload

What a boring cover.

I have a feeling that I know exactly what this release is going to sound. I hope I’m wrong, I honestly do but I think there’s going to be absolutely ZERO surprises with this one.

Don’t bet on it.

The last time Justin played all the instruments we got Jesu’s best release (Heart Ache) imho so I’m very excited for this record personally. ESPECIALLY when I hear statements in the press release such as…“JKB revisits his roots of heavy guitar driven music…”

Also you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. I quite like the simplicity of the cover. It sits well with all the Jesu art work so far.

I’ll be waiting for the vinyl to drop and hoping it has a free download code with it so I can wack it on my Ipod and burn a cd of it too. If not it’ll be a home listening experience only.

I might get the downloads also… Depends on which comes first, I think. And I think it’s going to be a heavy one as well. I like the cover, and i’m also under the impression that this will be influenced greatly by his work on GREYMACHINE, which I might be pikcing up as well (two weeks).

JKB’s certainly making up for the delays.

i want another “silver” feeling type record. I love the atmosphere it creates beautiful record!..btw will be going to Amoeba in a week, so I’ll be on the look out for endless summer. I have high hopes for it.

Extracts from Infinity are up on Jesu’s myspace.

Sounds ok for the most part. A fair chunk of it sounds like Earth though.

Will eventually pick this up.

I have to say I’m really looking forward to this now after hearing the samples (despite the shitty myspace audio quality). Olsen is right about the Earth comparisons, with the 2nd extract anyway, it’s a very slow moving piece, like Soundgarden for pensioners. The 1st extract is more in line with early jesu which is great and just what I wanted. Bring on the proper quality CD I say.

Justin Broderick is fast becoming the Tom Hanks of the indie post rock/metal scene.

Don’t ask me to explain that because I can’t.

does this have something to do with that show busom buddies? or maybe the movie the burbs? god damn klopecks… something is up with that fucking family.

I’m not exactly sure where you guys are coming from as I’ve never listened to Earth but the 1st clip sounds like it should have been an outtake of Godflesh’s “Pure” in my opinion and the 2nd seems like it would have been a great addition to the self titled Jesu LP. All in all I’m very happy to hear this and can’t wait to get my copy!

Greymachine, the new band with justin and aaron turner from isis, is kickin it oldschool w/pre-orders for their debut cd giving you a cassette single. i mean it’s no 8-track, but at least most people would be able to play it still

What?!?!?

You’ve…never heard Earth.

Oh dear.

Earth is Dylan Carlson’s band - he was Kurt Cobain’s best friend and the guy who (supposedly) sold Kurt the gun he later used to top himself. He is interviewed in the Kurt And Courtney documentary and is the subject of the song In Bloom.

I thought everyone had heard of Earth. At least, everyone on this forum that is. They are legendary. Kind of a drone metal type act, similar to Sunn O))).

Praise the lord!

Jesu is playinmg at a small club here in Edinburgh on the 12th of September!

Good fucking times.

This needs no explanation.

This is the funniest fucking thing I’ve read all week.

Jesu’s next LP: “BIG”

Infinity MIGHT actually be the heaviest thing to come out of the Jesu name. I caved and bought the download a little while ago. This is NOT jesu, it’s fucking Godflesh! And I must say, this is a very good album and a very interesting change of pace. At first some of it reminded me of Heartache, but then the vocals came in, and it just donned upon me that it’s very reminicent of later godflesh. The melody and atmospherics are still defintely there though.

I still think pasty-face Justin needs to rid himself of the albatross around his neck and finally do what he is capable of and stop lolly-gagging around.

Which is?
Man this is a complete 180 from last year, Last year you were swinging from justin’s nuts harder than a pissarmy kid runs after the ice cream truck!
