JKB Overload

Jesu’s next LP: “BIG”

Imagine a JKB/Robert Loggia collaboration on those big ass keys in the ground.

re: ‘Inifnity’ that’s great news Lordpiko, a more Godfleshy jesu album is just what the doctor ordered. I’m hoping that my CD might arrive today (more hope than confidence) I’m doing my best not to just go buy the mp3 as my ass is broke. If I don’t get it today I don’t know if I’ll make the weekend!

Nice analogy grmp.

Man this is a complete 180 from last year, Last year you were swinging from justin’s nuts harder than a pissarmy kid runs after the ice cream truck!

I was swingin’ from Justin’s nuts in 2005 after the first lp came out.

Then I found other more appealing artists with larger nuts.

Hey, when someone gets this let us know if this Jesu is more in the style of Jesu S/T. I seriously don’t want/need another s/t

On another note, I’m pretty stoked to be going to Amoeba on Saturday and I’m looking forward to finding Endless Summer.

I’ll be looking for mark of cain as well

I should maybe correct or revise my statement a little. This one definitely has it’s heavy moments, but as it said, there’s still that jesu sound in there. The album literially goes from progressive cycles, one of which, sounds like something very Godflesh-like. It starts one place and completely ends at another. I’d be more specific, but I think i’ve spoiled enough. After several listens since yesterday, it’s a very good album. And a nice mix of what JKB has done musically.

Your props, good sir.

More info on ‘Opiate Sun’ up on caldoverde: http://www.caldoverderecords.com/

Includes a free download of one of the songs, ‘Deflated’.
After a few listens it’s not too bad, maybe a bit bland but at least there’s a fair bit of guitars. Sticks in your head for a while after. It’s on jesu’s myspace as well. I like the artwork for ‘Opiate Sun’ better than ‘Infinity’ already.

Well it’s certainly poppier… reminds me of Conqueror with a Silver edge. Not sure what to think of it. Will listen to it more but I’m more struck by Infinity at the moment.

Speaking of jesu so much… Can anyone toss off a few high quality mp3s for me that I seem to have lost somehow? Need to get new copies of :

  • Silver (Original Beats)
  • Wolves (Original Mix)
  • Your Path To Divinity (WTUL Mix)

Thanks in advance if anyone can help!

According to a new interview, there will be another jesu album coming next year http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2009/09/an_interview_wi_34.html

I guess that just makes Peligro’s day.

There are samples of ‘Opiate Sun’ to be heard here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Opiate-Sun-EP/dp/B002OGR4X4/ref=sr_shvl_album_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1253906616&sr=301-1

Initial impression of the samples… meh. The vox style seems to be the same for all 4 songs and it sounds a bit lame. The title track could be the best I’d say. There’s something a bit too “Britpop” about them. shudder But they are just samples.

Infinity vinyl is now available at the avalanche store. 180 gm. Tempting to say the least.

Still haven’t heard the album yet…

At £16 to Europe and £18 to outside Europe you’d want to at least hear it before buying it. You can download it for about £5 or else get it from a file sharing website or thesirenssound.com to try it out first. Although I love elements of the album/song I thought buying the cd was not good value. But then again I’ve no money these days so don’t mind me if you’re rich and wiping your ass with dollar bills.

New jungle project featuring JKB:

Can definitely hear his guitars through it all. Songs 2, 5, & 7 are where you can hear his influence most and they seem the best of the bunch.

Toot will probably orgasm over this.

Aw, yeah. Gonna snag this beast ASAP.

Just got Opiate sun… I like it. i think it’s registering just under Pale Sketches, taking the third spot from Why are we not perfect.
Been listening to it on the drive to work.

I think it’s lacking. There’s some good stuff there, but i’ve heard better from him.

I think it flows better as one big long track rather than splitting up the songs between “favorites”

Never really looked at it that way. Think I know what i’ll be listening to at work today.

His Excellency, President for Life, Field Marshal Al Hadji Doctor Justin K. Broadrick, VC, DSO, MC, Lord of All the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Seas and Conqueror of Industrial Metal in General and Shoegaze and Ambient Drone in Particular is double headlining (schizo bastard) Amplifest in Porto this October.

Godflesh + jesu. Also playing are Barn Owl and 0v0 (the latter are alright but the vox are a bit ruinous).

Miguel is Portugese if I’m not mistaken so, Miguel, you’ll have the fly the flag on this one. I could be wrong but I think this is the only time JKB has played both as both Godflesh and jesu at the same gig (albeit on separate days).
