JKB Overload

According to the man himself, ‘Inifinity’ will be available in “around 10 days”, ‘Opiate Sun’ is out October 27th. More Final stuff available with the new Avalanche rec. site

Also looks like I’ll get to see jesu play either this year or next… Hyperfuckingawesomeness.

That’s awesome news! I’ll be getting both when they come out. 10 Days sounds very nice, although i’m a little disappointed by October; it was supposed to be July… One release is better than none though.

I have never heard anything by Fennesz outside OF “Endless Summer” and found it to be a chore, outside of one track. Any recommendations on his records that DO NOT sound like this?

This also goes for Final - I owned “2”, liked almost half of it (and believe it or not, liked most of the compositions that weren’t solely penned by JKB), so what doesn’t sound like that?

Depends on what you are into? The new album, ‘Black Sea’ is rather good as was the last album, ‘Venice’.

‘Endless Summer’ was pure bliss. What’s not to like? Eno meets My Bloody Valentine meets The Beach Boys meets laptop glitch - I’m in heaven right there.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah…!

still haven’t picked this up but i haven’t been to amoeba in months but it’s certainly not forgotten it’s first on the list when i go again

I don’t know. I listen to a lot of things…I’m off-kilter on some things, I mean I listen to TG and Coil and some others, including JKB’s music, but I didn’t dig “Endless Summer”. If there’s anything that isn’t like that, I’ll look into it.

I think Endless Summer is his greatest achievement, so…not sure what else to recommend.

There is a side project called ‘Fenn’O’Berg’ (Fennesz, Jim O’Rourke, Peter Rehberg) which is worth looking into for the curious minded.

Right as of now, I don’t think the world needs another Jesu album.

Jim O’Rourke…okay I’m sold. I’ll just check out whatever and see what happens.

We always need another Jesu album. A lot of it is hit o miss, but that’s just JB’s style. That’s why he’s into so many projects. You just find the ones that you really like and look forward to what may be coming next ( and hopefully soon as Justin is horrible about delays).

JKB is indeed the ‘delay master’.

When I heard that a new Jesu was scheduled for July I thought to myself:

Wicked, should have that one in my hot little hands just in time for Christmas!

‘Infinity’ CD now available to order from avalanche store:

The new Final album ‘Infinite Guitar 3’ is also available now.

Awesome news. Debating though on whether or not I want to order the cds or wait for the digital releases. I know i’m definitely buying both Final and Jesu. But it seems like they’re doing digital for both so I might just wait.

thanks for the heads up…will be ordering both of these tonight! looking forward to the final.

Ordered. Kinda pricey but it’s well worth it. About to put on some infinite guitar and jesu to help tie me over till my cds get here. How long do they usually take to ship?

It says on his blog that the cd’s will start shipping on the 29th (next wednesday). I’d add another week onto that if you’re in the U.S. Never ordered anything from Avalanche before so I don’t know how efficient they are. Going the digital route may mean you get the material a few days sooner if outside Britain (or maybe not) but I’d rather have the CD. Better for JKB too I’d presume.

Considering he prolly needs to recoup the cost of printing the cds and such. It’s a lot of money but I don’t really feel too bad for paying it. He’s a good musician, under the radar, and self-releasing this stuff.

12 pounds is pricey? Isn’t that like $15 shipped anywhere?

42 bucks for two cds kinda hurts my wallet some. If I lived in europe, it’d prolly sting a little less. I don’t regret paying for it, but it does hurt my bank account some.

do you get any special deals? like last year you had an option to by clothes that weren’t released or where limited. I picked up my “Why Are We Not Perfect” hoodie that way…

What a boring cover.

I have a feeling that I know exactly what this release is going to sound. I hope I’m wrong, I honestly do but I think there’s going to be absolutely ZERO surprises with this one.
