He won’t come to Canada anymore. 'Cause we hunt seal and such.

Marduk was great. 1349 stole the show. One of the opening bands was a Canadian Black/Death Metal band called Weapon. Big recommendation there.

And I agree completely. It’s wrong for animals to be used as a commodity and while other countries are guilty too, clubbing baby harp seals is especially heinous.

Hey Wemp, Kristeen Young is opening for Morrisey on that tour. Let me know how that goes…

got me some tickets to see faith no more at brixton academy (again!) next month in london and am also planning on catching seabound around then too.

you lucky motherfucker.

fnm in brixton, nice!

I may be seeing Lonnie Smith or the Mingus Big Bad at the Jazz Standard next month…I’m pumped!

I was a witness to her peculiar act last year. Karaoke with a laptop is the best way I can describe it. She was ignored mostly. Perhaps the Chicago Theater will be a better setting for her performance.

Yeah, I never liked when she just plays shit from her keyboard’s memory and dances around, it’s much more interesting when she’s actually pounding on it while singing. Really, I’m not interested anymore unless she has Jeff White playing drums with her, that guy’s a motherfucker. He played with her for like a decade, I guess he’s still on her records some but doesn’t play live with her much anymore, which is a fucking shame. But, the last time I talked to him he seemed to espouse the same opinion I have regarding her " professional demeanor", so I can’t say that I blame him. Still, they really used to have something.

refused at end of july!!!

soad, deftones, manson, dethklok on august 11-12

both shows in montreal!. stoaked as hell for refused. they’re a communist/revolution band, and the city has seen almost daily protests since february. should make for one hell of a show :D:D:D.

stupid protesters. shutting down traffic, and banging their damn pots and pans. PAY FOR YOUR TUITION. (Sorry I’m slightly bitter on the subject) [pirate]

you’re going to Heavy MTL? I was tempted, just to see Deftones and Suicidal. But they are playing on different days, so I decided against it.

And I must be getting old. I’ve seen Refused before, and I didn’t even know they were coming.

I do have tickets to Fiona Apple next Tuesday though. Her first time ever in Montreal. Very pleased.

This fall, so far:

saw FnM last Tuesday, which was pretty fucking great (as always!). they opened with woodpecker from mars which segued into delilah by tom jones and then back again. brilliant. am seeing Seabound this sunday, german synth pop. i saw them 3 years ago or so and it was one of the best gigs i’ve ever been to.

Tonight: Ministry
Tomorrow night: Ministry

Saw Hank III the other week, he was incredible, as were his band. One of the best shows i’ve ever seen, and a hell of a nice guy too. He stayed behind for over half an hour meeting people, posing for photos and signing CDs. Amazing. The prospect of this Hank III/Danzig album is amost too exciting!
