Gigs you got coming in 2012

I’ve not actually bought any tickets to anything yet, but I’ll likely see Maiden in August (Irvine) and Ministry in June or whenever it is they’re coming.

Korn tomorrow night in SF. Bring on the hate!

Mastodon/Opeth/Ghost

Apart from that, nothing that I know of yet. But we shall see…

Jane’s Addiction tonight

Roger Waters & Iron Maiden in June & July.

KILLING JOKE 12th March Glasgow

Seeing Ramms+ein on the 29th of next month. Sure they’re kind of Laibach again but how the fuck is that a bad thing?

Jane’s:

Boris on March 24th.

Aphex Twin is playing tonight. I can’t attend however as I’m djing on the radio. Wouldn’t have minded going at all.

I think Wooden Shjips are playing later in the month. Might go to that too.

Just bought a Ministry tix…VIP $110.00 6/23/12

^
What does that entail? If I recall earlier announcements general (pit) tix were that price on their own and reserved seats were like $69.00 or something.

VIP, I thought, was like $250 or $500 depending on whether you wanted a 13th Planet sampler disc and a laminate or something.

I don’t know what VIP means. The regular tix was 69 but since I had the option, I went for it. Probably of venue thing not with AL. I’ll probably be hanging out with Eddie Trunk!

I almost forked over thirty for a ticket to Meshuggah, but I passed and got another credit instead. I’m mad about it, because tickets for that show went up to eighty right when I got some extra cash my way.

Michael giRAWWW was great. From what I remember he played 4 songs from last Swans album, other Swans songs (‘She Lives’ + ‘Blind’) 1 or 2 Angels of Light songs, a rare unrecorded song ‘Oxygen’ (where the title of the last Swans album comes from), and a song from the next Swans album The Seer which is dedicated to this 6 year old daughter and which will feature Karen O on vocals on the album version.

Stan Ridgway - he’ll be in Phoenix in two weeks… comes to town every 6-9 months, it seems. Very entertaining live.
Nick Heyward - end of the month gig in Phoenix. Might check him out, passing interest.
Dead Can Dance - travelling to Austin in September to see them.
Bryan Ferry - alleged 2nd U.S. leg, his show in L.A. last October was awesome, I would definitely roadie to see him again.

On a personal note:

The Corrugation - I’ll be back out playing this summer to support the debut album (finally), which is currently scheduled for a June 19 release. Still have to recruit a whole new band for the shows, cripes.

PhoenixSpectacle 2 - I’m planning for a late-year event, probably in December, since I’ll be busy with Corrugation stuff in the summer/fall. This year’s tribute will not be exclusive to Wax Trax, so bands such as Skinny Puppy, Nitzer Ebb, Cabaret Voltaire, etc. will be tributed as well. I’m hoping to recruit other local musicians in my network to help out with the cover songs.

If I didn’t have school I’d love to help out. I’d love to get down on some classic TKK or RevCo. You should at least throw one PIG song in there.

Nice! I’m a big Ridgway fan but I’ve never seen him live.

I appreciate it, I know I’m gonna need some help with putting this one together. There are three songs I didn’t get to finish last year (I really should have taken more time to prepare) - Hatred (LIG), Go To Hell (KMFDM), and Provision (FLA). I’ll likely finish those songs, plus add stuff like Don’t Argue by Cab Voltaire, Addiction by SP, and Hot With Fleas by Severed Heads, Hearts and Minds (Nitzer Ebb, finished), Sunken Lives (Trisomie 21, complete), plus a few of the songs from last year (RevCo, Pailhead, 1000 Homo DJs. I want to play All Day again, but drop Halloween and add one or two from this list: Stigmata, LORAH, You Know What You Are, We Believe, I Prefer (finished). It’s another ambitious plan, but I can definitely crank out covers faster than I can original material! [:P]

So, what PIG song do you recommend?

LORAH definitely. As far as PIG goes I’d say Shit For Brains or Infinite Shame. You should also bust out some old TKK. Something off of I See Good Spirits I See Bad Spirits. That’s pretty much their most perfect album.
