Gigs you got coming in 2012

saw MC CHRIS last night. Still a great show, just like last time.

I went to see Battles and Sleigh Bells in Cleveland within a few weeks of each other. It was really interesting to see John Stanier in a completely different element to what most people would recognize him (as the drummer for Helmet). He definitely added something special to the group, which on paper would seem like math rock but they have much more of a groove going on. The video for “My Machine” with Gary Numan is f’ing hilarious.

What Sleigh Bells lacked in terms of a traditional band, they made up for in crowd response. Alexis Krauss really knows how to work the audience over. I was very surprised they opened with “Demons,” which was one of the harder (for lack of a better term) songs off the new record.

Other than that, it’s a bit of a dead zone for me until September, when Jesus and Mary Chain turn up at House of Blues CLE. The asking price for tix are a bit high, so I’m going to wait to see if there are any special deals closer to the show date.

it’s tonight. it will be ungodly racketous i’m sure.

most likely have some up on the podcast soon.

Couldn’t find the clip but Beavis & Butthead did a pretty good job of making fun of it.

I saw Lionize, Prong, and Clutch last night. The bands played several songs. I had a good time.

Prong are excellent live, seen them a couple of times and was very impressed.

Swans

Wish I could see them again.

Anyway, I believe Liars and Animal Collective are soon to announce gigs down under.

I wish I could see them again in the days when they played actual “songs”. Don’t get me wrong, I like the new stuff, but live they come off like the world’s scariest jam band.

saw Refused this saturday. it was hands down the best show i’ve ever been to in my life. they played flawlessly! the energy was just so incredible…

Haha, so facebook tricked me. Event popped up on the right hand side of my page and I was like “oh snap, that’s today!” and got all hot and bothered and went and drove down to LEMP and really it was just the start of their tour. They were in Grand Rapids. I live in St. Louis.

So I gotta wait until August 8th. Ah well.

I missed out on tickets to this:

<bursts out crying>

I’d go just to see if Neubaten still does a crazy show

Woah. Now THAT’s a show. Fuck.

Tonight: Loretta Lynn

Chose Public Image Limited over New Order the same night in OCT.

OK, it’s 2013 now, but this is the most recent thread about upcoming shows, so voila, RESURRECT!

Anyways, I just found out that Desaparecidos is coming to town in October and I am thrilled as fuck to hear it. Read Music/Speak Spanish is way high up on my all-time albums list. That band is soooooooo much better than Bright Eyes it’s not even funny. Though Bright Eyes does have its moments.

Have you heard the stuff they’ve done since they got back together? Aside from some cringe-worthy-Anonymous-praising lyrics most of it’s pretty decent.
