Never heard of. Grew up being into punk - Uk/American/Canadian. Although was into Ministry 18 years ago, until say 7 years ago was the only band of that genre I knew/liked much of.

As for Manson’s “faux goth pap” … have you even heard the album ‘Mechanical Animals’? There is some pretty sophisticated song writing and guitar work on that album (and it pops here and there on other records as well).
Songs like “Fundamentally Loathesome” and “Speed of Pain” are not the work of an unskilled band. I’m positive that John 5 is a more technically skilled guitarist than Broadrick, innovation aside.

Yeah, but Manson (and his cronies) usually wind up making any ‘serious’ statement, whether it be artistic or political or social, seem childish. It’s like a comic book version of a serious work of literature.
Whatever they do smacks of MTV pretension and ham fisted rebellion (in the ‘hate your parents’ mould).
And the music, especially the newer stuff like Eat Me Drink Me, is only slightly different to what My Chemical Romance and their ilk are churning out.
How is exposing Manson musical failings elitist?? Alice Cooper sold cabaret heavy metal rebellion to dopey teens years ago - it sucked then and it sucks even more now.
Manson’s been a complete joke since the whole columbine thing; did one shitty album, then another…and then even worse than before. Zim Zum was by far the best guitarist they had, while Daisy was by far, the most creative. John 5, I would consider the most technical. I mean, go up and ask the others to play bluegrass or some other random genre out there and John 5 can play it (i’ve heard a little of his solo album). And comparing any guitarist to broderick with the argument of “guitarist v. artist” just seems a little pretenious. Broderick isn’t a great guitarist at all, imo - BUT! I think he evn knows that and his main focus is and probably always has been soundscape rather than a specific part. So the whole guitar v. art though shouldn’t even be considered relevant since they’re two completely different things altogether.
I’m expecting the book to be great as long as it’s even half as entertaining as that 2-part Alternative Press article on RevCo. Anyone else remember that?
yeah…That’s some funny shit. I’m sure Chris will have some scary tales to tell.

that’s a classic and for those who haven’t read it check it out on http://www.prongs.org/ministry/interviews
labeled: Alternative Press Nov 1990 - The infamous Revco Tour Diary
love pettigrew covering one eyeball to get his key into the hotel room.
yup. remember very well.
When is this book supposed to be coming out anyway? I just pre-ordered it, but thought it was to be out already. The shipping estimate is telling me january. I’m willing to wait for it. But wtf, i’m willing to wait for it but I thought it was supposed to come out in october.
Unfortunately, the release date for the item(s) listed below has
changed, and we need to provide you with a new delivery estimate based on the new release date:
Chris Connelly (Author) “Concrete, Bulletproof, Invisible and
Fried: My Life As a Revolting Cock” [Paperback]
Estimated arrival date: 01/09/2008 - 01/11/2008
That’s fucked up.
I wish I knew who was responsible for the delay so I could tear them a new asshole.
That blows. Nobody seems to be talking about this book on Chris’ forum, which is odd. There’s a thread, but last post is from August. I was hoping Chris was say something about the delay. January - fuck.
1002
supposedly, in the nest week?
Was Chris going to send you a copy himself? If so, you might get it next week.
The rest of us are delayed until January.
chris will send when he gets his comps.
i will of course let the peeps know.
jizzwad.
wow man, you have a lot to learn.
chris connelly’s a fine writer.
i’d throw down my life for chris.because he’s the real deal/genuine.yes, i consider him my friend. he IS my friend.
read the fucking book and i’ll personally buy one for you.
i’m not rich, but i WILL make a point of buying you a copy of chris’s book.send me your address.
stop with the vitriole already. cut it out.
I’m looking forward to reading this book, actually. I know nothing of CC outside of Ministry/RevCo, I just know that it’s very different or something. Regardless, c’mon Jizzy, even you gotta admit this book might not be so bad. Just think, it’s coming from someone who was burned in the Ministry camp- just think of all the anti-Al material we can get from this! [laugh]
So passive. I highly doubt the book with be boring in any way, and i’m anxious to get the damn thing! Skeptical is one thing, being absolutely close-minded towards it altogether is another. If say there was a shitty movie, that I didn’t want to see and people tried their hardest to get me to go see it. They offer to even pay for it, maybe i’ll give it a go - not like there’s anything to really lose, you know?
amen.
and i’m not a(traditionally) religious person.
chris’s words about all that will speak for themselves .
i am troubled by the idea that someone can get seriously sober and someone else makes fun of you.
not part of the code.
call me a geek, a douchebag, whatever hits your fantasy for the day.
i know the players. have for many years.
let it roll…
Looks like the release date got pushed back for some reason.
special ed.
can you give us some insight on why Chris’ book is continually being delayed?
i’m frustrated becasue I bought 2 other things (Goodfellas DVD 2-disk* and The Steve M book.) and now i have to wait until Jan. for all of them to arrive. When you get freee shipping Amazon only sends out one package.
Amazon will usually ship the other stuff for you if it’s clear one item’s been delayed. They’re cool like that.
