Anyone read this? I’m wondering if its worth buying…
It’s not out yet. I preordered it through Amazon, and they said it should arrive around Nov. 1.
I reckon this will be an interesting read.
I’m not usually one for reading rockstars biographys/autobiographys as they often come across as heads firmly up arses, eg, Marilyn Manson (no idea what possessed me in the first place) and Courtney Love (oh dear and even though sad goth Poppy Z Brite wrote it for her it still rambled badly) but then John Lydon’s book was very good a came across as rather honest. So I’ll be giving this one a go.
yea and alot of marilyn manson’s book was false and fiction.

Isn’t that just what manson does? Spreads bullshit as truth to scare lame middle aged suburban conservative white people?

I got that too from that book…especially all of his drug stories. If anyone ever did that many drugs at once they would have OD’d or they’d be in worse shape than Ozzy. It was an easy read though and entertaining.

Two words: Keith Richards.
Bill Hicks taught me all i know about Rock ‘n’ Roll
I actually recall reading a few independent sources confirm that, in his heyday, Manson could consume more drugs than anyone and remain lucid.
Sources these days suggest that the whole thing’s caught up with him as he’s approaching middle-age. He’ll wind up a little better off than Ozzy in a decade or so (he’s naturally smarter) but he’s still going to be a human trainwreck.
I’m sure this fits nicely here:
Jizzwad not to long ago said,
PA users can be so intolerant of opposing views that they can take on the demeanor of a mob - or even worse create an actual loud + angry mobster - like grumpysmurf. Thus halting any possiblity for contrary opinions and open debate. Truly, a thinly disguised forum that is suffering from a form of intellectual and imaginative anorexia.
I avoid Marilyn Manson like the plague. Why do stupid people generally agree that he is entertaining? Manson is garbage. Anybody who doesn’t think so needs to punch themselves in the face over + over + over + again until they become sane.
Speaking of plague I’m sorry to report that grumpysmurf gave anal warts to Patches, our cocker spaniel.
Does anybody have the # of a good vet?
Manson < Zombie
Zombie < GWAR
GWAR <<<<<<< Alice Cooper
(that pretty much sums up my views on the shock rockers…)
As for Chris’ book, I’ll order it as soon as it becomes available here in the UK. Even if its not written well, it should be interesting to have some more information about RevCo.

Yes, that is quite true. liked some of his early music, but it was nothing special. The Antichrist Superstar tour was a good show, not original but money’s worth. I wouldn’t bother these day at all.

Oh, I meant to post that I’m definitely buying Chris’ book. The cameos are enticing - Ogre, Trent…Cabaret Voltaire? Can’t wait to read it. Can’t wait to read the threads born on here from it!

lol, granted, Skinny Puppy is also good at that sort of stuff, but I wouldn’t put them in the same category as those other bands, for obvious reasons
But yeah, if you want a crazy show with lots of blood etc SP is the way to go
I ordered the book…can’t wait!
I still like manson, I’m not a tight-jean wearing, bike-chain through my lips and razor cuts on my wrist, like most of the fans I see though.
Basically… without Manson, I would (most likely) never have gotten into NIN - thus Ministry - thus SP… etc etc…
Plus I dont really care that he is cliche and all that, let him be, he’s still entertaining, and I like listening to it when I dont feel like thinking terribly hard.
As for the drugs… people build tolerances… Kurdt Cobain for example according to the people “in the know”, there is “No way known that a man with that much heroin in his system could have pulled the trigger on that gun”. Bull shit, he built up a tolerance, and was more than able to do it, obviously.
Even drinking beer or smoking grass, dont do it for a month, do it once it floors u, then do it every day for a week and your thinking “hm… that really didnt do much”
Ha! Now that grump’s settled that thorny issue…
Anytime buddy, whenever you need me to point out you projecting, you just babble some diarrhea laden type attack on somebody…I got your back pal, just not too close, I don’t need anal warts, like your puppy.
I’m trying to think of some way to inject Missus Jay into this mind-expanding discussion. How about this:
Angie Jourgensen can deliver the opening sermon at the Grumpysmurf Douche Crew con 2008.
OOh cleverly said “douche crew.” how cute you think of me and vagina at the same time…I think you may have a crush…Sorry friend, while I respect your right to be who you are I just don’t swing that way. I’m flattered though… Really
you know, as a longtime program person(AA) i know all about working up your tolerance to inhuman levels. and then you die. i also know that you have to examine your shit constantly, why you’re angry, why you think anybody else is to blame for your frustration.yeah, i’d never want to hang out with angie. pointless. is she disrespectful. yeah. but it’s a gigantic waste of time to play the same game they do. people tend to bury themselves in their own shit.so let 'em.
i thought this forum was for constructive exchanges of ideas, and not namecalling.c’mon you guys, knock it off. you obviously care about a lot of the same stuff everyone else here cares about.
i trust that chris will be truthful with his book. he’s that kind of genuine.
[Isn’t that just what manson does? Spreads bullshit as truth to scare lame middle aged suburban conservative white people?
Yeah. That and put out excruciatingly bad kiddie goth albums for Slipknot fans is pretty much all he does.
I will definitely be buying this. I was in Chris’s record shop a couple of days ago, and asked if they were going to be selling the book, but even he doesn’t know if they’ll have copies.[:/]
