buck satan is here...

[reply]Remember when Offspring was going to put out an album called “Chinese Democracy”? Axl put a stop to that. We’ll see if Al can do the same thing to these guys…

HAHAHA!!! I do remember that. I didn’t know that Axl actually stopped him, though. I thought maybe Dexter was just talking trash but never followed through.

I remember when I read an interview where he announced the plan. He said something like,

“Axl stole my cornrows, so I’m stealing his album title!”[/reply]
i was JUST talking about that a few hours ago!

how weird…

and yeah, Axl didnt stop it, he just decided not to do it.

Axl couldnt stop it because you cant copyright certain titles. so like, i couldnt start a band called Led Zepplin, but i COULD release an album called Houses of the Holy.

does anyone have a mp3 version of Friend of the Devil? that would be awesome.

bridge school boot…

Yes titles are hard to copyright which is why there are often multiple films with the same titles throughout the years. That doesn’t stop the studios from trying to go to court about it though. A recent example is James Cameron’s Avatar and The Last Airbender aka Avatar: The Last Airbender. You can see who came out on top of that one.

What I meant to say is Al should have already trademarked the name as it is rather unique, and hardly likely that some other group of people would have came up with the same thing. According to that website this is a band who have been around since the '90s.

This happened to Ogre and Welt as he waited too long talking about it in interviews for years then when he actually went to trademark it he found out there was already a Californian punk band under that name.

I was always confused by the Subhumans . . . until just this past year when I figured out that there was always, at the same time, a Canadian Subhumans and a UK Subhumans.

Right that is a good example. Also The Charlatans UK (over in England they are just The Charlatans, but the American pysch-rock band came first), Spring Heeled Jack USA/UK ect.

HAHAHA!!! I never even gave any thought to it, but there are an assload of bands with the U.K. ending.

The Mission U.K.
Chaos U.K.
Etc . . .

I’m guessing there may have the same background on many of them.

And then there’s Australian Pink Floyd (whatever the heck that is).

Or Christian Death 1334 which is actually the ORIGINAL Christian Death minus Rozz but which cannot legally use the name since Valor took over.

Another hope dies horribly in a tinny, knackered-voice nightmare.

I didn’t think so much damage was possible.

But isn’t Al’s thing Buck Satan and the 666 Shooters? I’m sure he’ll be fine.

you should probably open the link [:P]

Oh wow… Nevermind. Yeah, hopefully he did copyright that. Heh.

Remind me not to be anywhere near prescription medication when that hideous Buck Satan music starts up again - cos that’s exactly the sort of thing that could push me over the edge.

Australian Pink Floyd is a tribute band.

Buck Satan may be here, but i wish he wasn’t. Why the horrible screaming? The b/v’s are good, but it’s like Al fronting Wall of Voodoo, except it wouldd sound better WOV style(aka no Al).

After like 10 listens…it’s growing on me.

I hate Al doesn’t use a drummer in the studio anymore (I play drums) but it’s funny a lot of you are talking about the drums because I didn’t hear it the first time around. I guess I’m thinking it fits with the country thing. Other than Reverend Horton Heat, I don’t think much of drums in a country song (granted I hate country music so I haven’t been exposed to much…Southern Rock is a different story). With Metal, Jazz etc. it has meaning…country, pop…not so much. On both tunes, I keep waiting for the chorus.

Looking forward to more.

I Like it![:)]
I do agree with those that say the vocals don’t fit. he shoulda slowed the vocals waaay down or dropped it down and octave or something. They don’t quite fit with music around them. but certainly potential.

Probably coulda pulled a Jello and Got Mojo Nixon to help him out. (that Jello album was stellar!)

I was thinking about all the 13th Planet programmed drums that have been on every single one of their releases… Has anyone ever thought that they just don’t have the proper mics to record a drum set? Let alone an actual drum set at their new studio… I was looking at the panorama images of their studio and I don’t see anything drum related, but they do have an electronic drum set in their live room.

Check it out

Ya know… the drums might be programmed, but I’m definitely not sure about the rest… here’s a link to the 2 Star Symphony…

Check the bios… seems like those “guys” rip a mean viola!!!

If it didn’t have programmed drums and was a little slower, I’d like it!

Dammit, I would.

It’s just… i dunno, maybe it’s meant to be industrial country, but… i hate those drums with a passion. i hate electronic drums in general anyway
