I keep thinking about how I’ve been on the tube (London), in the busy stations, sometimes during rush hour. Going through Kings Cross/St. Pancras, Camden Town, or Euston on the Northern line or Victoria on the Victoria, Circle, and/or District lines. Also have taken the double decker bus at peak times. Sure, the thought is always in the back of mind (07/07/2005 took out mostly UK citizens), but I try not to worry about it; when it’s my time, it’s my time. My immediate family and extended family all have passports in the event of a travel emergency. They all travel outside the US each year: normally to Canada, Mexico, or the Caribbean.

I do think there is a huge value in getting any information we can from him. If he and his brother were just angry bitches who wanted to make some kind of Columbine type “statement” well, yeah, I really don’t give a rat’s ass what their supposed philosophy was or whether they were kicked out of the chess club or molested by their Cub Scout leader.
What we do want to know is whether they were pawns of an actual network or larger umbrella of terrorist operations. And if they are part of a group or network, we want to know if this is the end of their mission or if others are planning something. Do you fear your backyard swimming pool or do you fear terrorists? Statistically, that pool is going to get you before a terrorist will. However, we still have to use due diligence with both pools and terrorists to prevent uneccessary deaths, but pool deaths are not sensationalized in the media to incite fear of the silent killer lurking in your backyard like terror is. I always wonder how many plots are discovered and foiled each year because there are the ones we sometimes here about and sometimes there are ones that slip through and we only hear because their plan failed (shoes, underware, etc.). Would we save more lives if we concentrated more of our resources on preventing backyard swimming pool deaths? Could we save more lives and resources if we focused on the root cause of the problems (ignorance and inattentiveness in many cases). What is it they want? For the west to leave them be?
