Al & Dez

Figures you’d all cream your pants over a band that’s aping the “classic Industrial sound” of yesteryear. The future is 1989!

You know as much as I don’t like some of the directions Ministry has taken, I give Al credit for not living in the box his longtime fans seemingly wish he’d stay in.

Early 90’s…I lived in a sub-sect called Rosemont…it blew goats…

[reply]Yeah,I lived in Orlando for a short time(unfortunately)and briefly dated a girl who once dated Chuck(or at least banged him)…she ended up being extremely neurotic and I quickly ran for the hills…but anyway, yeah Death orginated from Orlando even though Tampa is ground zero for DM…

When did you live in Orlando?[/reply]

Did you live there?

Doesn’t mooney and maybe someone else on the board live there?

Yeah, Mooney is around the Orlando area somewhere, or at least she has been in the past. I don’t know for certain if she’s moved or not.

I think DJ mentioned living in Orlando at some time as well.

I talk a lot of trash about Florida, but in all honesty my experience with the state is 98% Orlando-based. I did have one or two days in Miami about two years back and I’d like to have more time there as it seems like a GREAT place.

The other reason I talk a lot of trash about Florida is that whenever something REALLY REALLY REALLY stupid happens in the news (or a ridiculous true crime story on the ID Investigation Discovery) 99% of the time it’s from FLORIDA.

I spent my high school/college years in north and northwest Florida. My parents and sister still live there.
If you like being right-wing and angry, and you like a beautiful beach, have I got the place for you…

If your main experience of Florida is Orlando then I can definitely understand the disdain…I just hate when all the cities in the state get lumped together…it’s an incredibly diverse state and South Florida is NOTHING like central/northern Florida…and definitely not anything like the panhandle…Florida has some of the most beautiful locations in the country…I will die happily in Miami…I’m never leaving…

I will die happily in Miami…I’m never leaving…

I’ll let you know next time I pass through Miami.

I love Richie, but he says this every album.

They should sack Richard Patrick and get his brother T-1000 instead. The show would be much scarier.

I would see that show too.

I can see it now for 3/8…

Richard decides to pay tribute to Rob Halford by coming out on stage on a motorcycle.

Then we hear a very familiar voice…

“Say, that’s a nice bike.”

True story:

A few years ago, I went to see Filter at the Roxy here in LA. After the 4th or 5th song, Richie says “You all know my brother. He’s here tonight. He said if I played this next song, he’d come down in the pit and tear it up with everybody.” Until that point, there wasn’t really a pit going, but I was standing in the spot where it would be. So people hear this and start cheering. I turn to my right, and Robert “T-1000” Patrick is standing next to me with an evil grin. He looks at me and says “Let’s do this!” Filter starts playing [url http://youtu.be/TaEfCG0mSsE]“Under” and he starts raging in the pit. I took a few slams from him and gave some back. It was pretty cool.

That is so friggin’ rad.

Hahahaha, amazing!! I love Robert Patrick, he’s such a great character actor. I especially liked him in Copland, where he played Christopher Walken from At Close Range. Looks exactly like him with that hairstyle and droopy moustache. Great film, great great cast.

He was a cool part of the regrettable post-Mulder X-Files.

Holy shit I never made the connection. that’s fantastic!!

I love both those films. Especially “At Close Range”. Walken is such a great slimy bastard.
