Slash never had to put on clown make-up to hawk his warez. While Ace had to do that to distract everyone from how less superior his guitar work would be to that of a kid that probably couldn’t even play the guitar yet… See? even Ace knew the power of Slash before Slash was even Slash.

I don’t know if there’s any South Park fans on here, but Slash was featured in an episode. They basically made him out to be the equivalent of Santa Clause. I don’t really remember the episode too well, but a couple of the kids were saying Slash doesn’t exist and then they realize he does when they see his top hat and Les Paul by a fucking xmas tree. I don’t really follow South Park anymore cuz I don’t have cable, but in all the years I’ve watched it I’ve never once seen Kiss on there. Not even to get made fun of. Also GNR was the first band I ever gave a shit about. Been a fan since 4, so that means Slash was the first guitarist I ever gave a shit about.
Long story short, Slash kicks Ace’s ass. Not saying Ace sucks, but look at him now and look at Slash. Slash may be doing crappy solo albums with Myles Kennedy, a prime example of a guy with a good voice but NO STAGE PRESENCE WHATSOEVER, but Slash still has an active career (making albums, touring etc). Last time I saw Ace he was on Celebrity Rehab doing some charity concert at some small club. That’s pretty sad.
I actually don’t care either way…there are so many guitarists that are so superior to either one of them…this is just a fun little joke thread…

Almost totally right. There are so many guitarists that are far superior to Ace (the girl learning the guitar where I teach, for instace) makes this statement true. Slash is the best.

I thought myles had decent enough stage presence. he banters with the crowd, I like that. He’s the best frontman for any slash related project since axl, and at the manchester show he actually sings civil war waaaaaaaay better than axl ever has. That’s right I said it!!!

It’s all opinion, but Slash used a hat as his gimmick - Kiss used their makeup. Slash does play guitar really well, but when you think about it, those riffs pale in comparison to the solos you remember of his - Welcome To The Jungle, Sweet Child Of Mine, Paradise City…even Civil War and some of the material on Spaghetti Incident.
I don’t know how much Kiss you’ve heard, but Ace has created some really dirty guitar stuff. True, a lot of their stuff is just three chords played in a dirty fashion, but Ace wrote and played a lot of guitar pieces, like Parasite, Strange Ways, Shock Me, the latter sung by him actually. Great stuff. And, believe it or not, they both were influenced by a lot of the same music, like the New York Dolls and Alice Cooper.
