Zimmerman not guilty

that is unreal!

Plexico burress shot himself in the leg and got 2 years. Vick got jail time for killing dogs. but you kill a black teenager and you aren’t guilty of anything…

you think the person that kills zimmerman will be found guilty? they could argue stand your ground laws. hell he’s already killed one person, they could legitimately say they were scared for their life around him.

stunned.

YES!!

Elated to say the least. At least I can sleep at night with the realisation there is at least SOME sanity in the civilised world.

There’s no way Zimmerman was guilty and anything less than a not guilty verdict would have been nothing more than a cheap, politically correct publicity stunt.

Best news I’ve had in ages. That kid got what he deserved.

you know nothing of this case I see.
I can’t believe you would even joke about something like this.

Peligro, go fuck yourself.

Dude.
Florida.

I dont know much about this case, other than Zimmerman was supposedly getting his ass kicked by Treyvon Martin and he acted in self defense… so I dont think its out of the realm of possibility that he acted in self defense and his story is legit. But its sad that someone so young got his life taken away.

But then again you’d think Zimmerman could overpower a young kid and not have to shoot… so something does smell fishy but idk, i dont know enough of the details to make a verdict. Zimmerman himself doesn’t even look white, sometimes the whole race argument gets bogus. Poor fucking kid though

Like Gunnar said, can we expect anything different in Florida? It’s the country Bush’s brother ran for nearly a decade, and has Confederate flags on the sides of some highways.

I’m not surprised.

Must have been the same jury that was in the OJ Simpson case.

I’ll tell ya, I live in a highly populated black area, and shit was getting real last night.

The verdict is hardly surprising given the bias of American society. But deplorable, if anything.

Remember this:

Uh, actually you clearly know nothing of this case. Even reading through the wiki page on the case makes it very clear Zimmerman was not the aggressor and in the right according to Florida law. It also brings to light other factors the media chose to ignore and even disproves a lot of their claims. You’re already on the internet, man. Might as well take a moment to read it and catch up on some of the facts and sources. Here you go: http://en.wikipedia.org/...ng_of_Trayvon_Martin

Anyway, Zimmerman was legally in the right and the jury believed so as well. None of the prosecutions witnesses or attempts at pulling at heart strings helped their case. This is a good thing because knee-jerk reactionary bullshit has no place in a court of law. They had to prove that George Zimmerman was guilty and they failed to do so. It was a weak case to begin with. Unfortunately Zimmerman is still viewed as guilty and as some racist, cold blooded murderer to many people thanks to the nonsense they’ve been fed by people who’ve made a career out of being outraged. So, his life is fucking over regardless of him being found innocent.

One prime example of the prosecutions witnesses not helping their case was their “star witness” Rachel Jeantel. What the prosecution was thinking bringing her disrespectful ass up there is beyond me. She was rude, difficult to understand, hurt their case (at one point I remember seeing Trayvon’s father break down and cry, shaking his head in disappointment while Jeantel was mumbling her incoherent nonsense), had lied under oath on several occasions, couldn’t keep her stories straight, and even stated she didn’t want to be there in court (a slap in the face of Trayvon’s parents).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iBBNSLbOmY

[#ffffff]* Oh, and I like how the media kept claiming she was just a nervous young high school girl and that’s why she was difficult to understand, made no fucking sense, and seemed about as intelligent as a bag of hammers. Then it came out that she’s actually a 19 year old in high school - who apparently can’t read cursive - and had lied about being 16 earlier on. Which has led to people speculating that the reason they refused to release the texts between her and Trayvon was because she was an adult who was in a relationship with Trayvon, who was a minor. This is pure speculation though and likely bullshit. I don’t even think it would matter since they were only a year apart in age anyway.[/#ffffff]

Another one of the prosecutions witnesses had even signed or “liked” an online petition calling for the arrest of George Zimmerman. So, she was obviously biased and had no business being on the stand. It was a little awkward when the defense pointed this out to her:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rYa5Fg1Nt0
And these are just two of the witnesses. There were many more who fucked up the defenses case and/or portrayed Zimmerman in a positive light.

The media has spun this into some race war bullshit in order to gain viewers and boost ratings and some of people have gladly eaten it up and want seconds. There’s been no evidence or reason to believe Zimmerman had any beef with black people or that he was motivated by race. It was, however, confirmed by the prosecutions “star witness” that Trayvon referred to Zimmerman as a “creepy ass cracker”.
Now that doesn’t offend me. I couldn’t care less if someone calls me a cracker (and Zimmerman is hispanic anyway, right?). What pisses me off about that is how the media didn’t make a big deal out of it and even joked and laughed about it on some stations. Yet, they had no problem telling us what to hear in that garbled mess of a phone call when Zimmerman supposedly said, “Fucking coons.” - which turned out to actually be “fucking punks”, I believe. Oh, yeah and they were fine with editing Zimmerman’s call to the police in such a way to make him seem racist. But they apologized later… so it’s all good, right? Fuck that.

What is an absolute shame is that a kid is dead, two parents lost their son, and people are using this as an excuse to act outraged and throw race and stupidity into the mix, overshadowing the fact that two parents no longer have their son. That is terrible, in my opinion. However, under the law in Florida Zimmerman was in the right and in a court of law he was found innocent after an exhausting, and at times comically absurd, trial.

Sorry for the rant. I figured I’d actually say something rather than lazily tell people they’re wrong without explaining why.

EDIT: Wow, I missed this first time around somehow…

You’re something else, man. You’re flirting with the idea of someone killing this dude based off of some biased bullshit and your obvious misunderstanding of the stand your ground law.

People like you are like the liberal version of Limbaugh or his fanbase. Pull your head out of your ass and quit forming such strong opinions about shit you know nothing about.

Agreed to an extent. Zimmerman (before he packed on like 100+lbs during the trial) was a smallish meek looking guy and Trayvon wasn’t the little kid they kept showing in pictures. He also wasn’t the 6’7" thug, racist bloggers were claiming he was. Funnily enough, some people were claiming a picture of the rapper Game was Trayvon. Idiots.
And Zimmerman’s hispanic, I believe.

Apparently Zimmerman was getting the back of his head smashed into the concrete, Trayvon noticed the gun and went for it, and Zimmerman shot him. My opinion on gun laws and the stand your ground law is irrelevant. But if I were the type to own and carry a gun (which I am not) I wonder if I’d have done the same? I think getting my head slammed into cement might cause me to do whatever it takes to get the person to stop - it’s me or him.

I don’t know… but you’re spot on about the fact that regardless of the media circus it’s sad a young person died.

atom, pretty much nailed both sides. well done.

Can’t we all just get along?

I sincerely hope that the next time Zimmerman kills somebody…the jury isn’t so clueless.

Sorry for the rant. I figured I’d actually say something rather than lazily tell people they’re wrong without explaining why.

I believe this called self righteous, pompous, brow beating, self important, blow-hard, pseudo intellectual, etc etc.

I’m flirting with who now?

you are ridiculous. you think people don’t want him dead and that everyone has a wiki education like yourself?
it comes down to this:
If Zimmerman
A. didn’t profile treyvon he’s still alive.
b. followed the 911 worker’s advice and did not follow him treyvon is still alive.
c. didn’t lose a fight that he picked with a kid treyvon is still alive.
d. if zimmerman didn’t have a gun treyvon is still alive.

so go suck a dick with your stand your ground laws. you know nothing of the stand your ground laws. you can’t fuckin stock somebody, and then kill them because you’re scared you lost the upper-hand. stay the fuck away from them if your scared of the scary black man. don’t approach them. real fuckin easy.

It’s people like you that fuck this world up with your “pretend” impartiality when really all it comes down to is you being more stupid than a graduating class of charter school kids

go ahead and tell us all why casey anthony isn’t guilty too.

People like you are like the liberal version of Limbaugh or his fanbase. Pull your head out of your ass and quit forming such strong opinions about shit you know nothing about.

People like you are worse than limbaugh. funny how your reputation preceded you here from piss army. get a fucking clue you uninformed pissant.

you ridiculous uniformed little shit.

Don’t blame the jury. Both sides had a hand in picking it. Blame the prosecution for not convincing them, if anything.[/reply]
Not completely true. the prosecution got over ruled by the judge when they tried to replace at least two prospective members.

The judge overrules anything that he thinks is BS. That’s how it works in court. That doesn’t mean that both sides didn’t have an equally fair chance of picking the jury.[/reply]
I’m pretty sure the judge ruling on what she thinks is BS (with no apparent reason for calling bullshit) is pretty much the definition of not having an equally fair chance.

The purpose of the judge is to decide what is fair and act on it. You can’t say that a judge is not being fair because the judge defines what is fair. If you are saying that the legal system is corrupt and that the judge was guilty of fraud then I think you should put on a tin hat and join the rest of the nut cases. Either way, you still can’t blame the jury. You’re saying that we should blame the judge now? Should we blame society next for making the judge who he is? Where does it end?[/reply]
it was a she. and did she deny any of the defense’s jury requests? not to my knowledge. I’m just saying an explanation would be nice as to why she wouldn’t let the prosecution dismiss potential jurors

If you have two kids and they come up and one asks to watch Elmo and you say yes then the other comes up and asks to watch porn an you say no, do you have to give a reason for your response? Were you acting unfairly? Should you deny the other child being able to watch Elmo since you denied the other from watching porn? This is essentially the type of argument you are making. It’s ridiculous. If you have reason to believe that the judge was not fair by not throwing out the jurors then make your point. Don’t say it wasn’t fair because she didn’t also overrule some of the defenses objections and didn’t give an explanation. You are effectively pulling out the race card… which means just saying it wasn’t fair because it doesn’t suit your fancy.[/reply]

With regards to my post that started this exchange I think you’re both getting a little off-track. My point is, what’s to stop Zimmerman or anyone else from repeating this incident when the precedent has been set that in Florida…you can harass and question and unarmed person…shoot them dead and not have to answer for it. Where’s Martin’s right to ‘stand his ground’?

With regards to the judge…she didn’t allow evidence of Zimmerman’s assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest…nor did she allow evidence of Zimmerman’s fiance’s charge of domestic violence and against Zimmerman which was settled by a restraining order.

He was guilty of of being a creepy cracker ass cracker stalker who harassed a teen then proceeded to get his ass whooped so badly (supposedly) that he had to pull a gun and kill.

You talk about publicity stunts while doing exactly the same thing with your post. Hahaha
