Wicked Lake soundtrack listing

Now that MINISTRY has wrapped up its farewell "C U La TouR", Al Jourgensen is concentrating on a myriad of other projects at his El Paso, Texas-based 13th Planet empire. The first of these projects is the release of the "Wicked Lake" soundtrack, set to arrive in stores on November 24, 2008 in conjunction with the film's October 7 DVD release.

In a rare public appearance, Jourgensen, along with the stars of “Wicked Lake”, will sign advance copies of the DVD on Thursday, Septeber 25 at the Virgin Megastore in Hollywood beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The Grammy-nominated Jourgensen, who produced the soundtrack, wrote, scored and recorded the music at his 13th Planet studios early this year. While “Wicked Lake” is Jourgensen’s debut scoring for a feature film, it’s not his first foray into soundtracks, as he wrote and performed tracks for Steven Spielberg’s “Artificial Intelligence: AI” (2001), Paul Verhoeven’s “RoboCop” (1987) and “The Matrix” (1999) — the soundtrack captured a Grammy.

The “Wicked Lake” soundtrack offers 15 tracks, most from 13th Planet’s stable of artists which includes MINISTRY, REVOLTING COCKS, PRONG, ASCENSION OF THE WATCHERS and FALSE ICONS. One gem is a previously unreleased MINISTRY track, “Cuz U R Next”, one of the last songs written by the late Paul Raven with Jourgensen, and features Raven on bass. Also on the soundtrack are two REVOLTING COCKS tracks, the brand new “Hookerbot3000”, and “Ten Million Ways to Die”, from the 2006 “Cocked & Loaded” CD that features BUTTHOLE SURFERSGibby Haynes. In addition, MESHUGGAH’s “Combustion” and THREAT SIGNAL’s “As I Destruct” are featured. The complete track listing is below.

 1. “Evading” - ASCENSION OF THE WATCHERS
 2. “Residual Presence” - ASCENSION OF THE WATCHERS
 3. “Experiment in Terror” - LAIKA & THE COSMONAUTS
 4. “10 Million Ways to Die” - REVOLTING COCKS
 5. “Hookerbot3000” - REVOLTING COCKS
 6. “Bang A Gong” - MINISTRY & CO-CONSPIRATORS
 7. “Radar Love” - MINISTRY & CO-CONSPIRATORS
 8. “Decay” - FALSE ICONS
 9. “Cuz U R Next” - MINISTRY
 10. “Can’t Stop the Bleeding” - PRONG
 11. “No Justice” - PRONG
 12. “Combustion” - MESHUGGAH
 13. “As I Destruct” - THREAT SIGNAL
 14. “Nobody Knows What Killer Looks Like” - HEMLOCK
 15. “Khyber Pass [Wicked Instrumental]” - MINISTRY

“Wicked Lake”, which Jourgensen described as “‘Faster Pussycat Kill Kill’ gone very, very bad,” is the sordid supernatural tale of a group of four co-ed girls on a weekend getaway tailed by two clans of deranged male predatory perverts. The film was directed by Jourgensen’s good friend, filmmaker Zach Passero. Passero, whose past feature credits include “The Big, Weird and Normal” and “Motel: Glimpse”, directed MINISTRY’s video “Lieslieslies” (2006) as well as hand-rendering the animated video “Fire Engine” for Jourgensen’s side project, THE REVOLTING COCKS. Jourgensen and Passero first met on the set of MINISTRY’s “No W” video at Sonic Ranch, TX in 2004.

Zach is one of the most talented, driven young artists I’ve met in a long time,” said Jourgensen. “We both have the same twisted penchant for dark humor, so it’s a match made in horror hell.”

Wonder what’s this:

“Cuz U R Next” - MINISTRY

Dude. What the fuck.

thanks, I needed a good laugh today!!

in the words of a dude i know really well, “make it all go away…”
al keeps referencing faster pussycat because he had a glimpse of that russ meyers movie when he was “running” wax trax.
i spent a good amount of time with the two kansas/denver/arkansonian(?)hillbillies–jim and dannie – and they were pissed that al took all kinds of credit for shit he didn’t do.
had it not been for those two homos taking big al under their…er…wings, he would never have even seen that movie.
this shit makes me …“happy to be alive”.
back to cnn and vomiting…
fucking hell.

Wow, that track listing looks like poop. There go my hopes that Al might actually do something worthwhile and instrumental. Can’t say my hopes were ever that high though.

Dude. What the fuck.

Cuz U R Next

Did he just give up on decent song titles? Yeah, it’s…just not a good soundtrack. I like the band name Threat Signal…never heard of them. Guess I’ll have to hear the unreleased track sometime, though, how good can it be if it didn’t make the cut for TLS? shudder

Might be something ya like considering if it didn’t make the TLS cut. It might not be Chugga Chugga Chugga Music (which i don’t mind don’t get me wrong but I’ve heard others complain! [:)])

That says a lot.

“Chugga chugga” can be fine if it’s done well.
But it’s easy to be realy lazy when making chugga chugga (especially with a computer).

I just caught myself singing “Keys to the City.” To which I respond…

er, how exactly did he score the movie? he’s just bunged a load of tunes together that were not written for the film in question. or is it just cleverly worded…?

Looks like I’ll just be itunes-ing the two unreleased Ministry tracks.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present you Threat Signal: http://threatsignal.blogspot.com/

Listening to Threat Signal’s “As I Destruct.”

To be honest, I initially dug the instrumentation, especially the stuttering guitar, but CHRIST, the vocals piss me off… and then they tried to go all power-metal halfway through.

Pass.

Also, the guy in the middle of the banner with the Shadows Fall shirt and the Jim Carrey grimace CRACKS ME UP.

You cannot laugh at Threat Signal, Threat Signal is DEVASTATING!!!

If you do the digging False Idols is ever better! Al was right 13th Planet really is the new Wax Trax!

Bankrupt? Out of Busniess? Gay owned? WTF? let’s get some clarity here!

That’s exactly what I was thinking…

Bankrupt? Out of Busniess? Gay owned?

Soon? Soon? Possibly?

I could have sworn I heard him sing: He’s not gay, or an F-A-G.

this shit cracks me up. you are correct senor smurf-wax trax went into bankruptcy, was TRULY run by two wild gay hillbillies, who at least had some semblance of a business sense. i think the bankruptcy issue didn’t happen til way down the line–like 10 years after they moved to chicago.
al’s business sense, on the other hand, is fiction.

jim and dannie and i were very well acquainted, lets say.
(oh geez…get out the gay-o-meter…)
