which famous musician would you like to have dinner/ drinks with?

I live in/near Boston and we all went out for lobster. Julian and Josh (and Josh’s girlfriend) never had eaten lobster and we took them to a great italian seafood place. They decided to go for the grillled (rather than traditional boiled) which was ok…The waiter brought live lobsters to the table and looked at Julian and asked him “is this one OK”. Julian just kinda looked an said “sure”…then the waiter raised the cleaver over his head and split the live lobster right down the middle…

I once had lunch with composer(ess?) Yoko Kanno for 20 minutes before she revealed who she was (of course not expecting me to be familiar with her work)! Did my head in.

It’s really great to archive DJ’s posts, sir. It’s always oh so important to any given thread.

Probably just as important as his original posts, maybe :man_shrugging:

The only thing important is to remember that he’s no longer here on account of leaving forever 2.5 years ago, and to know that he doesn’t read the threads and doesn’t care about this board or any of you fuckers. He told me himself, so I know he means it.

Gary Numan by far

In my teenie years i would’ve said Roger Waters and Trent Reznor. But now I know Waters is a mega SJW and Reznor is a mopey emo kid. Two types of people I try to avoid at all costs in the real world.

Don’t meet your idols, kids!

Just wondering… What’s wrong with Social Justice? I don’t understand all the negative shit surrounding it? So, you believe that Jim Crow should still be a thing? Separate but equal should be in practice? So, Justice is an inconvenience to you? Something to be tolerated until you can get the laws back to the good old days? Asking for a friend.

Absolutely nothing. But when you make it your entire personality it’s grating and petulant.

Is that what you think I just tried to convey? :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

You act as if he’s accomplished something haha. He’s a farty old rock n roll boomer who thinks he’s a sociopolitical expert and never shuts the fuck up about it. Not to mention he owns a townhouse in Manhattan and lives in the Hamptons, so this anti capitalist gimmick he has going is utterly hilarious. Play The Wall, shut the fuck up, and enjoy the revenue

Wasn’t sure, thats why i was asking

Is that his whole personality? I dont know i know nothing of him other than pink floyd. maybe he just feels the need to use his platform to bring some good into the world?

Is being a SJW anti capitalist? Wanting people to have a better life doesn’t mean you have to lower of your own life does it?

Marilyn Manson duh

His platform is like 90% boomers who have checked out of the social media game. He’s barking at the wind. The dude just needs to find a hobby, he seems bored. The guy is almost 80 for crying out loud, maybe there’s some senility going on there.

If he really wants to help he needs to donate vasts amounts of his hoarded wealth to the causes he supports most. His complaining-to-donating ratio is completely lopsided… he might wanna flip that around.

Actually ya you do. Practice what you preach. If I were a socialist (which he absolutely is) I wouldn’t wanna be living next to capitalists the very people you loathe and speak out against in the fanciest neighborhoods in the country.

Any more questions?

I like this. That’s a good point. But are you sure he doesn’t? That would kinda be a dickheaded move to go around bragging about how much and to who you donated to.

Or maybe he’s trying to change people from within the community. Or needs a gated community for stans… maybe.

Nope. Thanks.

Alice Cooper.

I don’t follow the guy and don’t care about NIN, but from the small bits here and there that I’ve seen/read about Trent, he really seems to have grown to a thoughtful and gracious dude. He doesn’t come across as the mopey kid anymore.
