When did AL quit drinking?

Well, who knows…I’m. So. Shocked.

http://themusic.com.au/interviews/all/2014/10/15/ministry/

Earlier this year. But that interview made it seem like he started back up…

“I’m drinking beer and talking to press, so this can only go downward from here,” the enigmatic, nihilistic Al Jourgensen of industrial metal maestros Ministry offers.

Not really any context provided, maybe he was describing his interviews with Wiederhorn when they were working on the book?

I just realised i worded that in a strange way…but, maybe he’ll end up like Keef or Lemmy (even though Lemmy drinks less than i do!)…

Speaking of drinking I’m about ready for a beer or 20 right now…work always gets in the way though…

aahhhh fuck work,I’m going to go get fuckin hammered…

“Let’s Get Weird”!!!

Dunno… The way it’s worded seemed like he started drinking again. Hopefully not.

That pic of him and Jello that was posted recently (i think it was a recent pic too) had beer bottles in the pic and Al looked hammered

personally
i believe whoever consumes whatever
is their own business
if the fucker wants to jab a vein
or slam a fifth

fuck it
let em have at it …

uh oh here we go…

It’s his business. I just think it’s a shame to start drinking again so soon after getting out of rehab for that very thing. That’s all i’m saying.

Beer ain’t drinkin’.

The fact that he made such a big deal out of going to rehab kinda makes his fall off the wagon public fodder/discussion.

The fact that hes made it public means its not just his Business. But whatever

As a person with a past in substance abuse, i’m a little biased. I really hoped, as a fan, and as a person, that he would be able to get himself some help and straighten out his life. Then he falls right back into it less than a year later. It’s a real shame that he can’t deal with sobriety. Or an even bigger shame that he can’t surround himself with people who won’t enable him. So, yeah, I can’t help but shake my head a little bit.

I’m confused…when it was heroin it was everyone’s business and there was no debate but now that it’s alcohol we are in disagreement?

Please.

The man has made his addictions an in-your-face marketing ploy to help sell his persona and music for decades. We are definitely free to talk about whatever.

Those saying “giving him a break” “let him do what he wants”, you don’t understand addiction. If he’s begun drinking again it will be a disaster all over again in no time (probably as we type).

It may just be beer now. Then, he’ll think, “maybe if I have a little bit of wine…”. Then it turns into more, then more… You get the picture. Justr sucks to watch the decline of someone else. Public figure, or not. A person is a person, no matter who they are.

Anyway, back to the original topic question . . .

“When did Al quit drinking?”
Answer: When he went to rehab. I don’t remember the exact date, but it was around February 3rd or so, as I recall.

The follow up question would be, “When, if he is now drinking, did he start up again?”
Answer: Some time after he got out of rehab, if he is in fact drinking, which he seems to be.

Well, once Angie left it was only a matter of time really. I mean, who else is going to babysit him?
