Reading the “Otherworld” series by Tad Williams. Read the first book or two before, but got bored with 'em and stopped. Saw the whole set in hardback really cheap at a thrift store in Chicago when I was there, so I picked 'em up. The story IS good, but for some reason, even though I find it interesting, something about it makes it so I can’t read more than two or three pages at a time without falling asleep.

My girlfriend just got “Good Omens” (Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett) from the library to read for the first time. I may have to take a time out from my book to re-read that one for a third time before she takes it back. That book is SO good.

Reading “The Historian” by Elizabeth Kostova. Sort of a cross between “The Da Vinci Code” and “Dracula.” Not bad. Just finished “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” by Stieg Larsson (good) and “11/22/63” by Stephen King (better).

Just picked up the Clinton book and Republic Lost - how money corrupts congress.

Just finished the new Bond book - Carte Blanc, reading Neal Stephenson’s Reamde.

finished Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson, and working on Spook Country now.

snow crash was great, really good.

Currently about 1/3 way through A Storm of Swords pt.1 from the Song of Ice and Fire series.

Patton Oswalt - “Zombie Spaceship Wasteland”

This Chamber of Commerce magazine.

Dry material and I don’t recommend you do this leisurely. However, if you are in my boat, where your mentor is on vacation and you have a report to give? I still don’t recommend it!

Now if you excuse me I gotta sit on the toilet and hope I don’t fall asleep.

Reading the 33 1/3 book on TG’s 20 Jazz Funk Greats, it’s a brilliant little book. I’m listening to the album each track as the book goes through that track. Just finished some 7 in a row listens of “convincing people” and am more impressed by the track than ever before. If you like Throbbing Gristle, do yourself a favor and get this book.

The long chapter on “persuasion” made for a rather punishing listening experience. That song really shouldn’t be listened to so many times in a row. Going to take a little break now.

Zadie Smith - White Teeth

Pretentious crap. I hate when authors desperately try to write the “big, important novel of his/her generation.”

Smith is a twat.

I’d still do her though

Fifty Shades of Grey…

don’t ask.
