Yeah I have the same feeling…I’m not opposed to harsh electronics or noise but its just not very exciting stuff with such a lack of variation…bored me to tears…
David Lee Roth - Eat 'Em And Smile
Billy Idol - Vital Idol
Europe - Out Of This World
I love Vital Idol, don’t really need much Billy Idol outside that one comp
A lot of Aerosmith…

Dude does a great job filming all kinds of modern hardcore bands. Some are really good. Others? Not so much.
This isn’t hardcore. It’s mothafuckin’ Yardcore bitch!

Hahaha nice one, grumps…I loved Triumph the Insult Comic Dog…is that still a thing or was that character retired?..haven’t seen him show up and fuck with celebrities in a while…
He pops up here and there. Less so now that Conan doesn’t have a show, but I think he had a Netflix special or something a few years back.
Just read that Mercyful Fate are going to release 2 new songs before a new album comes out… stoked…hopefully it’s as epic as Celitc Frost’s come back album…

King Diamond had a new album slated for 2019 called THE INSTITUTE, which has been pushed back for the last three years and maybe is taking a back seat to his Fate stuff now. Last I saw was it was planned for Spring 2023. I’m just going to try to forget about it until it suddenly shows up in 2047. The song they debuted in 2019 was pretty rad – “Masquerade of Madness”.
I hope that Becky Baldwin chick stays in Mercyful Fate. She was so fun to watch on stage and I love that heavy playing style on her Rickenbacker. They debuted a new song on tour called “Jackyl of Salzburg”, I think. I don’t really remember anything particular about it, but it was certainly good enough for the album, whenever that happens.
I’m not a very impartial judge on this topic, though.
King can really do no wrong in my opinion, haha!
I spent the last few days delving into the Viagra Boys catalog. I have to say, I really, really, really dig these guys. The live material is freaking great. Super fun. Check out the Shrimp Sessions. Unless I croak in the meantime, when VB comes to town, I’m going.
It’s been a long time since anything new and exciting came across my musical radar. I’m truly impressed. I love the dark humor in much of the lyrics. You have to like a tune about a dude getting busy with a goat and getting caught by the wife.
Fav tracks in no particular order - Down in the Basement, Just Like You, Research Chemicals, Shrimp Shack, Punk Rock Loser, Ain’t Nice. There are more…
Bart train wheels - screeching into oakland.

Sisters Of Mercy - First & Last & Always
Kate Bush, “Hounds of Love”
Guns N’ Roses, the “Use Your Illusion” remasters – wow, so crisp, so good, Steven Wilson is an engineering genius
V/A, “Life Moves Pretty Fast: The John Hughes Mixtapes” – if you grew up in the 80s and saw his films, then every song on this 4-CD box set will invoke nostalgia and a cry of “holy shit, I remember this song!”
While I was digging through my vinyl for the 70’s thingy, I found a bunch of stuff I semi forgot about including Wipers - Is This Real? I have the 2nd pressing on Park Avenue Records. I’m also cataloging some of the more valuable records. I’ve got a bunch of early thrash, and hardcore. I’m a bit surprised at the value of some of them.
I’m listening to the YT version not on vinyl.
