So, does anyone dig the new Metallica single? Sounds better than… everything they’ve done past “Reload” I guess?
That’s not a high bar to clear and no diggity for me. I thought it was boring.
Yeah, it’s not for me either. Too. . .cock rocky or something.
Intro kinda sounds like a rip off band trying to steal master of puppets. I think what makes it better than all the songs after black album is that you can hear each instrument very clearly rather than the garbled mess that they’ve been releasing. (Although ive only heard up to death magnetic dont know anything after that) i think it sounds very generic. Its not bad, its just not exciting either. Background noise at monster truck rally tailgate parties.
Pretty much what I expect from Metallica at this stage in their career.
Still…it’s better than anything off the last Ozzy album…
Why bring Ozzy into this haha? I would personally take Ozzy’s shittiest song over any Metallica …never been a fan…I have a deep aversion to James Hetfield’s vocals and Lars drumming…never liked them…
It sounds like Megadeth, if Dave realized just 5 hours before the deadline, that he contracted with NASCAR to write montage music.
I trust Gunnar’s descriptions…so of course now I have to go listen to this piece of shit…
They had seven years to write new material, and THIS is what they come up with?
Good grief.
And not sure what to say about that album artwork either…
I tried but I made it to a little over a minute and bailed out…that drum sound was so fucking annoying…
Well, james was in rehab for a while so maybe not quite 7 years…
Ozzy’s patient #9 is bad ass ozzy albums always have at least 3 killer tracks on them

I’m a big Metallica apologist/defender but have been pretty apathetic about anything after “Justice”. They have some decent tracks here and there on the new albums, but I can’t really even be bothered to dig out the CD’s or give them a fair listen. I would rather put on one of the 80’s albums where I know I’ll love everything from start to finish. LIVE, they’ve always been and will always be one of the absolute best. And they keep it fresh with doing new stuff, mixing up their set lists, trying new touring models, etc. I should listen to the new song on headphones or something (not just my shitty phone), but I really can’t be bothered. Their first four albums and their live power is more than enough. Rolling Stones still kill it live too. Anyone able to name 3 albums or songs from the last 20 years? Just sayin’.
Hmm… I don’t think I can name 3 tunes or albums from either band from the last 20 years. I stopped with anything Stones from 1972 (Exile) onward. Metallica since 1989 (Justice). I might be able to name 3 tunes off of Load/Reload combined. Anything after that, I can’t name 1. Once Fonzi warms up the motorcycle and jumps that shark, there is no going back.
I like the new Metallica tune. Haven’t heard them produce a 3 minute tune in forever. Has a nod to Motorheads Overkill at the end.
I hear ya all, I lost interest in Metallica after the Black album. I was lucky enough to see Cliff & Metallica open up for Ozzy in 86!
