I haven’t listened to some of these albums in years. I’m rather enjoying this musical pursuit.
It’s 1975. Bobby Fisher refuses to play Antonly Karpov in chess. Microsoft is founded. US involvement in Vietnam war ends and Saigon falls. Betamax. Pine Ridge and Leonard Peltier. Jimmy Hoffa goes poof. Edmund Fitzgerald sinks to the bottom of Lake Superior
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here. (Fav album ever.)

If I can get my back to loosen up a bit, I can get back to cleaning grout. It’s a totally suck job but the grout is coming out nicely. I didn’t think it was savable.
Station to Station
Rocks and 2112 would make my tip tier and would switch with Steve Miller,Eagles and probably Ramones…but still a bunch of solid titles there…
Good luck with the grout dude…I’ve done that…that’s a major pain in the nuts
The Calender flips to 1977. Elvis expires. Jimmy Carter pardons draft evaders. Worst aviation disaster in history as two 747s collide in the Canary islands. Stars Wars is released. James Earl Ray escapes prison and is recaptured days later. Voyager 1 is launched. NY blackout. Optical fiber carries 1st phone traffic.
Up for today…

The Ramones - Rocket to Russia
Pink Floyd - Animals
Iggy Pop - Lust For Life
Considered
Fleetwood Mac - Rumors
Steve Miller Band - Book of Dreams
Jethro Tull - Songs From the Wood
I didn’t rank anything, no best of type thing for my musical adventure. You should like today’s selection though. Bowie is back on the turntable, or at least he will be shortly.
While tedious and time consuming, the grout coming out great. I’ll be back at it today for a while. I use steam to get the major build up removed and either peroxide or Zep for stain removal. The peroxide is not regular drugstore peroxide. It’s “developer” for hair styling. Don’t ask me what ladies do with 40% peroxide on their head. I get it a a beauty supply store. I use the creamy kind as it sticks to vertical grout. I’m doing the grout on the walls. Just don’t get in on a painted surface or the paint will come right off. Doh!!! I learned this the hard way. Doh!!! Doh!!! Doh!!! I leave it on overnight and rinse/wipe down the next day. I also use Zep grout cleaner and brightener. No paid endorsement for Zep, just a satisfied customer. You have to experiment a bit to see if the developer or Zep is required for the stain you are trying to remove. When using Zep, do a small area and do NOT let it dry. Ironically, it leaves a nasty stain that’s hard to remove if it drys. You will have to use another round of Zep to get get it off. It works well, just take your time and keep it wet. Every round of developer/peroxide or Zep get’s things a bit brighter. The grout is 80 years old and likely never really cleaned. I’ve been here for 25 years and other than basic disinfecting, I haven’t done a thorough cleaning. it’s pretty grungy.
I was originally going to gut the bathroom but a combination of only having one in the house and life going seriously awry, I’m going to do a less invasive/disruptive renovation.
Been rockin’ tons of W.A.S.P. lately. Crossed 'em off my band bucket list finally last night. Incredible show. And, yes, they played “ANIMAL (Fuck Like A Beast)”.
I am listening to this now. Agreed, it certainly is solid. Maybe the best thing they’ve done in decades. Might have to think about getting this one on vinyl…cheers.
1978
The Great Blizzard of 1978. (I remember that. It was pretty nuts.) Roman Polanski flees the US. Karl Wallenda discovers gravity. Korean airliner shot down by Soviet Union. Maximum the Hardcore. A Japanese balls-out metal band. Great shit. The albums are hard to find, but if you dig deep enough on Google, I’m sure you can locate them.
