What are you listening to right now?

Cocked And Loaded is a pretty good album in my opinion. The Jello tracks are the best, even if “Dead End Streets” could use a little more cowbell…

“Fire Engine”, “Caliente” and “Prune Tang” are the three next-best tracks, I think. The rest of the album is decent. I never had any problems with Spiderbaby to be honest; in fact, I think the ungodly noise that passes for vocals on “Jack In The Crack” really makes that song.

Josh isn’t on Cocked & Loaded. It’s the inferior Stevie Banch (and also Gibby and Jello and Phildo).

Really? I thought josh Bradford was on all nurevco releases. Hmm guess ill have to gi back and relisten

Life, sex & death - The silent majority.
A record rep turned me on to this long before it came out in the ninetys.
Met the band at a super small club and got the cd fully autographed.

It’s their only release recorded live in okie.
MOV just put this out on vinyl for the 1st time.

Lead singer is a homeless guy named Stanley, def one of the coolest guys i ever met.

Non stop rocker, it just won’t stop…you’ll see!!

Not sure if you saw the 06 tour where it was a double bill with Cocks and Ministry (for “Rio Grande Blood”) but that could cause some confusion as Josh took the vocals/frontman duties then (right after the Cocked and Loaded album). I dont know if he did the same schtick on all stops but he was dressed like Charlie Chaplin at the Hollywood gig, complete with the toothbrush mustache, which I thought was great fun because it added additional confusion / controversy with people thinking he was supposed to be Adolf Hitler.

I was at 4 or 5 of those shows. The Anaheim shows, the LA shows, and I think san diego show… But yeah. It could be. I remember Lady Monster, Phildo, Jello and Spyderbaby, but I thought they were guest vocalists with Josh doing everything else… Damn, it’s probably been 10+ years since I listened to that cd.

I kinda dig that Priest track.
I hadn’t ever even heard of this project, but I’m kinda interested now.

Priest is one of the openers for front line tour.
Body Machine is out July 15th I believe.

Lot of killer priest shows on YouTube, live at skylaten is the best, just make sure you’re on autoplay, the files are separate.

SF Sorrow is one of the all time greats

Yeah it’s a really strong record…considered to be the first “rock opera”…it’s such a downbeat concept album but it totally works…I went on a Pretty Things binge and listened to all their albums recently…I think SF Sorrow and Parachute are my favorites but there is something to like in all their albums(even their 1980 attempt at New Wave)…cool band who doesn’t get the credit they deserve…

The Pretty Things-Parachute

Holy shit…this is really good. Thanks qb for mentioning them.

Glad you enjoyed it,Rev…give some of the others a spin some time…each album has its own unique identity…they were a band who definitely were not adverse to trying new things…

Is that Seventh Star vinyl a re-release or did you find an old copy…I still have my vinyl of that…always felt that album got the short shrift…it’s not a masterpiece or anything but it’s very solid…the tour was a disaster cuz they had to fire Glenn Hughes …he was out of his mind on crack and alcohol and I think they only did like 5 or 6 shows before Iommi gave him his pink slip…but they remained friends and went on to do 2 incredible records together…The DEP Sessions and Fused ,both of which I like way more than Seventh Star…

I really like the 7th star. I continue to listen to that one quite often. It got a 2cd release years back. Live stuff. More of a period in time for me to enjoy…The Eternal Idol, didn’t grab me like this one.

It’s a reissue.

Seventh Star, Eternal Idol and Headless Cross are all classics. My favorite would be Cross, which doesn’t get anywhere near the love it should.

No Stranger To Love and Seventh Star (both from Seventh Star) are two of my favorite all time songs.
