Listening to a ton of Matthew Halsall, an English jazz guy who is amazing.

Also Cigarettes After Sex. Really dig them, though the lead singer looks nothing like I expected him to.

DRI - Crossover
Sadus - A Vision Of Misery
Sodom - Better Off Dead

UFO- Lights Out
UFO-Obsession

The new Ozzy song and video…it fucking blew me away…I never thought that I would like anything new that Ozzy put out ever again…boy was I wrong …and it’s got none other than Jeff fucking Beck on guitar and he just shreds on it…the video is fucking insane and amazing by the guy who did Spawn, (who’s name is escaping me at the moment…)…kinda warmed my heart looking and listening to this thing with 2 veterans in their 70s making something that I think will endure…

I know Ozzy has become a caricature and joke and all that but he will always be a legend to me…Sabbath changed everything for me as a kid…the first time I heard them it fucking annihilated my mind and set me on a musical course for which I’m yet to come back from haha…it changed my life and it was never the same after…long live the Oz!

The ordinary man album?
I wonder what song that is you’re talking about. I wasn’t impressed with most of it although Scary Little Green men is cool as hell. Post malone basically turned it into bubblegum album He’s got like 3 or 4 songs on there.

No it’s a brand new one…it’s called Patient # 9 from the new album of the same name…I’ve only heard the single which I think is great, the one I was talking about…haven’t heard anything else…looks like there are a bunch of guests on it…

Yeah I couldn’t deal with the Post Malone shit…

New Ozzy tune

Paul Leary - The History Of Dogs, Revisited. I cannot say enough good things about this weird little album. For those of you who don’t know, Leary was the lead guitarist for the Butthole Surfers.

Appetite. Been craving some “Sweet Child” since I heard it in the background of the new Thor commercial.

Whodathunk 15 years ago that the best MCU character would wind up being THOR?! Weird days…

I’m one of the 7 people who likes Chinese Democracy better than anything else they did…

7 people on the planet…

Well most of Appetite I never want to hear again …just way played out for me…I find both Use your Illusions to be incredibly hit or miss…Lies I’ll probably never listen to again and I found the Spaghetti Incident mostly unbearable…I really like Chinese Democracy from a song writing and production perspective and I am a huge Buckethead and Brain fan and found a lot of those other musicians on it to be really interesting…I think Chinese Democracy will be appreciated more as time goes by and if not I don’t really care…I enjoy the shit out of it…

Zola Jesus - Arkhon

Well, I will admit there are filler songs on Appetite, but the songs that aren’t filler are tremendous, even damn near 40 years later!
UYI I and II are nearly flawless to me. With maybe only a couple songs I can’t stand (specifically My World and So Fine and maybe 1 or 2 more that don’t make me angry like MW and SF do, but I just don’t care for) but UYI II has Locomotive on it which for me has to be the finest GNR song ever written.
I don’t think I’ve listened to the electric side of LIES in probably 25 years, but the acoustic side of LIES gets regular play from me (Minus Used To Love Her. What a boring song) The electric version of Your Crazy on Appetite is filler, but the acoustic version on LIES is a masterpiece.
I liked Spaghetti when it first came out, but I think Since I Don’t Have You and Down On The Farm are the only songs that have had any staying power from that album. Needless to say I loathe all of the songs sung by Duff on that album and always have.
Chinese Democracy was ok. There are a couple of really stand out songs on that album IRS, Catcher In The Rye, Better, and There Was A Time but it really stands out to me as just a Axl solo album because all of the music sounds collaged. Like Axl just stuck some players in a recording booth one at a time and said play in this key at this BPM and I’ll take what I want and add it where I want. So, While some songs are better than decent it still seems like a literal cut and paste job. With the solo from This I Love being the worst offender/easiest to notice.

Slash’s Snakepit’s first album sounds like a guns record to me way more than Chinese Democracy, and man, if Axl would just do a few cuts from those records live that would be great, but sadly ego boy would probably never do it.

I don’t know if you’ve ever heard Sympathy for the Devil by Guns but you can skip that altogether, That’s up there with My World and So Fine. blech!!

I’ll say that I definitely agree that Chinese Democracy is really just a Guns album in name only…should have definitely been released as an Axl solo album…might have even made it sell better…the expectations were so high for that album and it took so long to make that I don’t feel it could have ever been good enough for people…for me personally I find it brilliant and loved every song on it…I like that he did some unexpected things on it and didn’t try to appease anyone…If the World is such a bangin track…

The stuff on Use your Illusions that I like I really like but some of that stuff is loose butthole…The Garden and Double Talking Jive and some others really rip…I think it’s the old cliche that those 2 albums would have made a great single album…but I kinda feel that way…I actually like them a good deal I just don’t love all of it…

I did hear the first Snakepit record and dug it but never checked out any others…I love that first Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds record even if alot of it apes the Stones and Aerosmith ,I still dig the songs alot and Izzy just has that swagger that I love…you got any suggestions for other Izzy stuff?..I checked recently and didn’t realize he had like 10 albums!!

Yeah Sympathy cover was ca ca…
