Book of souls 3 lp vinyl is now 30.00
Think im going to wait out senjutsu, its basically 50.00 right now.
I can totally wait a year.
That shitz not going anywhere.
UPDATE: so this morning after checking everywhere for pricing for senjutsu i seen all the exclusives sold out and going for big money on resale.
So for some reason i went back to walmart.com and it popped back in stock so after seeing the huge resale markups i quickly put out the 60 clams for the walmart exclusive.
Listening to it on youtube…outta be a hoot.
Cant wait to spin that red vinyl.
I actually don’t remember gushing over “Book of Souls”, but it’s possible.
It’s one that I honestly didn’t listen to a lot. I didn’t dislike it or anything, but I’d misplace the discs and I honestly can’t recall a single specific song from it at the time being. I was definitely excited that it happened, though. Coming right after Bruce’s battle with Cancer, the album and tour both felt so triumphant. Maiden is more popular than ever, and it’s no longer some little clique to be a fan. I think I love how Universal being a Maiden fan can be now. The shows pull such a widely diverse spectrum of fans and I think that is so cool. I can start tossing beers in the parking lot and the next thing I know I’ll be partying with a 60 year old heart surgeon, an LA dominatrix, some gutter punks, some jocks, an a county court judge, hahaha. It’s heavy metal, sure, but they’ve never been exclusive or elitist or anything and I love that.
I will also say that with respect to a lot of the new Maiden (yes, I also define that by everything since 2000, hahaha), I don’t always take strongly to it on the first rounds and often have to come back to it later on to appreciate it. I didn’t connect with “Matter of Life and Death” or “Final Frontier” when they first came out, but after revisiting again after 5 years or so I liked them a lot more. I think an Iron Maiden cover art goes a long way in setting the tone too. The art for “Final Frontier” was trash, and I can’t for the life of me remember what “Book of Souls” even was (a book, maybe?). “Dance of Death” gets laughed at (rightly so) but the album is actually one of my all-time favorites.
Anyway, sorry, I’m starting to wander into Geekland which is a very comfortable place for many of us Maiden fans. We’re nerds. We know this. We’re okay with it, haha.
So, yeah. Totally pointless.
Like the edit of the remix of Pink Floyd’s “Learning To Fly” that also came out today.
Would you like some making fuck BERZERKER
Oddly enough, my first taste of Maiden was “A Matter Of Life And Death,” and I absolutely adore that album. I listened to the new one a few times, and I think it suffers from the same flaw that “Book of Souls” did – it’s just too much to absorb. I want a lean, mean Maiden album – one disc, 45 minutes. Something that truly cuts to the bone. I know long, complicated tracks are their forte, but a change would be nice.
Damn ,I go out of town and I miss a massive Maiden thread…about to throw in the new one now…
“Did he just say making fuck?”
Then I would suggest Killers or perhaps Piece of Mind.
Oh, PIECE OF MIND, for sure, in my book. No 15 minute epics. Just swift kicks in the groin and fireballs to the face.
It’s so hard to pick favorites, but I’d probably go “7th Son” and “Piece of Mind” if I could only rock 2 for the rest of my days.
Saw them on the Piece of Mind tour as a young lad…Quiet Riot opened up right before Metal Health broke big…I still have the shirt from that tour that is several sizes to small for me now haha
First thing this morning…senjutsu very addictive from the git go.
Red/black marble vinyl will not get here soon enough.
As of this walmart.com is still dishin em out.
guns n’ roses almost 88’
Something made me think of Nirvana’s Nevermind album last week. I wanted to give the super deluxe 4 disk version a spin. Still to this day, a solid group of songs. Great record.
Personal brag: I got to see nirvana in Memphis BEFORE ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ hit it big on MTV and they were touring for Nevermind. 300 people were there - tops, Omni New Daisy on Beale Street. (October 7, 1991) Pretty cool moment to catch.
Nevermind is a great album.
I also saw Nirvana just a few days later at St. Andrews. It was one of the best shows I ever saw. Both the band and the crowd were absolutely electric.
There is video of the show here - https://youtu.be/R_uaYWl0GnM
I also saw Nirvana about a year earlier at the Blind Big in Ann Arbor for the Bleach tour. It was also a very good show.
Cro-mags- Age of Quarrel
Cro-mags- Best Wishes
Love both of those.
“Death Camps” will always be my favorite Cro-Mags song.
Both are killer, although it went downhill pretty fast after those 2 …Death Camps is incredible…always preferred Harleys vocals to Joesephs…
Yeah, I remember I got a latter one called “Near Death Experience” and i couldn’t even get through one listen. I don’t think I’ve heard anything after that.
Cro-Mags are great. I like Age of Quarrel better than Best Wishes but both are good. Cro-Mags without Harley are not the Cro-Mags.
They did one after Best Wishes called Alpha Omega that is good/ok…but yeah Near Death Exp sucked butthole…I never bothered with the others…and yeah no Harley= no Mags
