What are you listening to right now?

I never heard of them…

White Zombie Live…1993 & 1995.

Haha, I didn’t listen to them, I just remember them as a band with silly songs. But truth be told I only knew the “i’m an adult now” one from videos and radio. It just tripped me out when I read that band name.

HAHA!!! Was gonna say the same. That song was a staple on KROQ in LA area back in the mid-80’s. I loved it and wouldn’t be able to name another song or a single bit of trivia about the band, but as soon as I saw the name here I was thinking, “Goddamn, maybe I should check out if they ever did anything else worth listening to”.

Well if you like “adult” you will probably like the others…another of Rundgrens latter day productions…they were a good band

Now playing the newly released Quicksand single…

Yeah, I skimmed through. The first track I tried was pretty sappy shit that felt like early 90’s alternarock, a la Gin Blossoms or Toad The Wet Sprocket, but I moved on to a few after that and dug it. Just some pretty cool well done and smoothly delivered rock and roll.

Hahahaaha Toad the Wet Sprocket…who the fuck figured that would be a good band name?..just an awful name…only thing worse that comes to mind is Hobostank…

Goo Goo Dolls was a band name that always made me cringe too.

Yeah Goo Goo Dolls is a terrible name for a terrible band…

Chumbawumba is hideous also…

Toad The Wet Sprocket is from a Monty Python skit about rock bands:

King’s X - Out of the Silent Planet

Fuck yeah dude…love me some Kings X…“the musicians band”…they always got the respect but never got the fame or money…ive seen them live many times and they always bring the house down…and all super cool people…have you heard any of their solo projects? Lots of great stuff sprinkled about…

The EPIX movie channel was free this weekend. They have a 4 part series called PUNK. I’ve watch 3 of the 4 at this point. It’s pretty good. It’s the basics we all know. But I got a more specific vibe how it evolved and how Iggy was a big influence is just the way he was. (I may have been told this over and over but it never clicked).

Man, Johnny Rotten has gained some weight in this. He may have some medical shit going on.

This last one better have some west cost punk shit in it. I’ve alway thought JFA was important, but they never seem to make “the list”.

just found out it was produced by Iggy Pop, maybe that’ why he’s angled as the punk creator.
