He’s not completely retarded and he absolutely was aware of what the Dukes were singing about (as well as the art, visuals, and total overall marketing and image presentation). I don’t know the history and backstory about his time in the band and what led to him branching out on his own, but in some Rogan interview from a few years back he basically painted them all as a bunch of hippie burnout dopers, haha. I don’t give a rat’s ass about Nugent’s so-called politics, but I’m one of the few that really likes and appreciates him for his annoying in-your-face bullshit. He knows how to very effectively troll the media and public for maximum results. He’s probably not paid a single dollar for promotion/ marketing in over 30 years, hahahaha!!!
Ted’s really interesting. When he removes any right wing political jibber jabber from the equation and just talks about guns and hunting and such with someone who actually gives him time and space (Joe Rogan is the only one I can really think of) he’s actually quite engaging and the topic is very interesting, even for a guy like me (I’m not a gun owner/enthusiast OR a hunter or a politics guy).

What was the premise?
It was probably about 12 years ago now and it was one of those reality show things and all I remember was Sebastian Bach and Ted Nugent were in it and IIRC they had to successfully write some songs and then tour them. Nugent was total straight edge and was trying to help bach kick the sauce, and bach played an awesome prank on him at the end of the show… (My wife’s telling me it was called “supergroup”- And now Acid too in the post below)
Anyway, Yeah nugent’s politics are nauseating but thankfully they edited that shit out or he was tame… not sure.

For the record, it’s actually possible (despite what Ted may think) to hold multiple beliefs. They’re not ALL mutually exclusive from each other.
I think the virus likely was likely an accidental Wuhan lab leak. I don’t think this is cause for anti-Asian racism (and fuck anyone who does). I also think that the “cover story” (eating unclean bats) does more damage to the image of the Asian community than the possibility of an accident in a research lab.
I know that Covid is a real thing and that millions around the world have died directly or indirectly from it. I also know that governments still capitalized on the situation and used it to enforce maximum control over and compliance from the people. And many corporations who were already raping our country and planet were able to continue doing so with impunity and were handsomely rewarded for it and able to triple (or more) their values over less than a year.
I knew from day 1 that putting shit over our mouths and noses would be helpful, even if only marginally, not because I’m a molecular biologist, but because I have common sense and I’d rather take my chances being coughed on/at by someone with a mask on than someone without one. And if they’re coughing in my face, I’d rather have a mask on too. I don’t agree with a lot of the mandates and think it’s stupid in many cases, but not nearly as stupid as our so-called leaders of public health blatantly lying about such stuff because they want to manipulate us. And later, even after having to finally admit such manipulative lies, continue to tell us we have an obligation to “follow the Science”.
It’s all a bunch of horseshit.
I wish guys like Ted Nugent who have the “balls” to take socially divisive/unpopular opinions would actually put some proper thought behind them and allow for self-evaluation and correction. It’s just fucking stupid and, in my opinion, really defeats the purpose and strength of any “voice of dissent”.
We NEED backlash and protest when government pushes stuff on us. Even if it’s shit I agree with, I still appreciate those with a counter argument, especially if they present it thoughtfully and rationally. But when the only voices heard are crackpots and willfully-blind dipshits, it all goes out the window.
I feel the same way about the Capitol protest bullshit. I think there could be some really helpful and positive discussions to be had about the integrity of our elections, but if you’re coming to the table with “Trump won and there’s a conspiracy to steal it from him because a secret ring of pedophiles is being controlled by the Vatican taking directives from the mothership on planet Voltron…”, sorry, but the media is going to use you as a cartoon puppet and you’ll only end up fucking over people with legitimate concerns and ideas.

I don’t know if the positions have changed but I’ve heard from multiple infectious disease experts (One of which was on Rogan last year) that there’s no way this came from a lab because of the extent of the intricacy of it. Not only that, the corona virus has existed in some form or another for forever.

I completely disagree with this. There is nothing wrong with the integrity of our elections and to entertain the notion that there is would be akin to giving a platform to flat Earthers to voice their “concerns.” There’s no such thing as a flat Earth and no matter what you tell them, no matter what evidence you present, they won’t believe you.
Same with our elections. Our elections have been legit for years now, The only thing close to a bad election was in 2000 when the Florida governor (Bush’s brother) and Kathleen Harris STOPPED the vote count to give it to W. That wasn’t a matter of ballot stuffing and voter fraud as it was a matter of Corrupt politicians and nepotism. And it wasn’t done in secret it was done for the whole world to see. And it’s on record so it’s not a conspiracy.
If you give these morons a platform to yell about “honest elections” it’s sets the false precedent that our elections are not honest. Which is bullshit. Committee after committee for years now have found NO irregularities with our national elections and when voter fraud is found it’s usually isolated cases of Repubs committing it.
It doesn’t matter what evidence you provide to them, just like the flat Earthers, they won’t believe it. So, why bother? All you really do is cheapen the discourse, lend credibility to lunacy, and change the focus away from real problems that need solutions. Like voter suppression (See florida 2000) and gerrymandering. So, until there’s actual evidence of voter fraud, Fuck the idea of having “discussions.” Leave that discussion to the internet and not waste any actual official time or money to it.
