God, I wish you were a blond with big tits…
Most underrated metal project of all time, as far as I’m concerned (even if I can never remember which album is which – I think they’re both pure fire from start to finish). This is where Lombardo shined brighter than in any other bands/ projects. It’s so fucking good. R.I.P. Gus Chambers.
They actually did 4 full length albums and 1 EP…all equally good, imo…Lombardo really does some mind-melting percussion work on them…a really tight band…and yeah sad about Chambers…dude was a pretty commanding vocalist…
Trying and failing to like the new Tomahawk. Tomahawk is probably my least favorite of Patton’s projects. I don’t know why. You’d think with Patton, Dunn, Stanier and Denison in the same room, there would just be constant nuclear fission, but this one leaves me cold. Nothing sticks – not the performances, not the melodies, not the lyrics. I really, really, REALLY hate to say this, because I’m a huge Patton fan, but this may be the first non-avant- piece Patton has phoned in.
Can’t say I share your dislike…i will say this: I saw Tomahawk back in the early 2000’s and it was fierce as fuck…one of my favorites of many times I’ve seen Patton in various groups…I wonder if there will ever be another FNM record…
I was never a fan of Tomahawk in general, but I LOVE their faux-indian record from 2006. Quite different from the rest of their discography, in my ears.
I’ll concede that live Tomahawk is a ferocious thing, having seen them a couple of times.
Faith No More is touring Australia in the fall, so I think a new record IS a possibility.
Fingers crossed…

I just stumbled on FANNY.
The description of the clip kinda intrigued me and I was expecting some goofy 70’s AM Gold muskrat-lovin’ soft-rock schtick, but these chicks throw it down hard. The song actually starts at 1:40 and when she comes in with a deliciously grimy blues slide it really caught me off guard, hahaha!!! Good shit!!!
Fuck yeah dude Fanny is awesome…check out their album Mothers Pride produced by the great Todd Rundgren!!..so weird that you randomly brought this album up cuz I’ve been going deep down the Rundgren rabbit hole and am reading a book about his 70s productions and I just yesterday read the section about Fanny…
Cool! I’ll look for that one. The above was literally the only song / performance I’d seen/heard from Fanny, so I had no idea where to start next anyway. I saw you listed Rundgren on your picks earlier this week but didn’t know there was any connection. I’ll let ya know how the rest of their stuff grabs me.
Weather is rather nice today and I’m feeling 70’s
