VH - Fair Warning 1981

[reply][reply]More recently I’d put Ghost in that camp - you don’t have to know that they dress like satanic cultists to enjoy the band (but it doesn’t hurt). Apart from the costumes, their show is very straightforward, though.

I don’t give a shit what anyone says,I fucking love Ghost…[/reply]

I think they’re great.
I honestly don’t understand why they catch so much flack. They’re really one of the VERY few new metal acts that actually sound fresh and original to me. And their schtick is really great. It’s done in such a way that there’s a weird dark humor to it but not in a terribly cheesy goofball way. While they do seem grounded and don’t take “themselves” overly seriously, they do take their ART very seriously, and that only makes for a wonderful experience as far as I’m concerned.[/reply]

Totally agree…

VH - Fair Warning 1981

Nice call…the dirtiest, darkest and best VH album of them all…

Cheap Trick-Heaven Tonight

The Circle of Dust S/t re-release has been consuming me lately

BOC - Sunshine Recorder

Daniel Ash - Coming Down

Beck - one foot in the grave

Beck - Mellow Gold

Syd Barrett - You Got It Now

Can we ever just get a best of the Roth era Van Halen?! Box set would be nice!

I just gave the recent David Gilmour album, Rattle That Lock, a second chance.

It still sucks.

The s/t single turned me off so much that I never checked out the rest of the album…

Circus Of Power. Anyone remember them?

Men Without Hats - The Safety Dance

It played on the radio this morning, and now it’s stuck in my head. I’m on YouTube playing it on repeat…trying to get sick of it, but it’s only making it worse.

Circus Of Power. Anyone remember them?

I remember them for sure but never really go into them…NYC band, right?

Afghan Whigs-Black Love

St. Patty’s day is about here, so…time for me to do the obligatory dusting off of my Tommy Makem and Pogues records.“Rum, Sodomy and the Lash” by the latter being a ‘desert island disc’ for me.

I notice that iTunes very helpfully defended my prudish sensibilities by listing it in their store as “Rum, S****Y and the Lash”, lol.

I’ve seen random songs get censored on there owing to the [url https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scunthorpe_problem]Scunthorpe Problem, but come on, that’s just absurd. What happens if you download an album by the band Sodom? Does the artist name show up in the iTunes player as “*****”?

Yep! The East Coast’s answer to Guns N’ Roses. They’re playing a tiny club in Queens in October. Why the tickets went on-sale so early I don’t know, but hey, I got 2 anyway.

I enjoy these releases…Alan Douglas really fucked up the mixes/replacing players but it’s a different perspective I can deal with that. At this point, most if not all of these tunes have been released in it’s true jam session form.
