HAHAHA!!! I can respect that. In truth I thought Dio was a cheesy cartoon for a long time as well. I didn’t really start appreciating him until I saw him live (opened for Iron Maiden) and he just blew me away.
Dude, I saw Dio open for Maiden and I thought he was awesome too. Then I went to see Heaven and Hell and it was the first show in my life that I ever walked out of. Utter shite. Mind you, Down (and Megadeth) opened for them and I have never seen an opening band blow the headliners out of the water like I did that night. Down kicked it. At least they didn’t play any Ozzy material.
Dio’s just a little “too much” for me.

Thing is, Dio was always Dio.
Unlike Ozzy, you can never look back and say “Man, that Dio did some good stuff until he completely fell apart and turned into a pathetic cartoon parody of himself.” He was a cartoon right from the beginning, and sometimes there’s not a damn thing wrong with that.

Dio was like 4’3", ugly as heck, played with swords and capes, and sang about dragons and magic, and he did it pretty darn good for 40 years and seemed to have a smile on his face everyday.
All the way up to the end, the guy seemed super intelligent, well spoken, and energetic and fun as can be.
Ozzy . . . Well, he just wishes Sharon would pull her hand out of his ass long enough for him to make a proper #2 . . . If he could remember how . . . and if he could find the toilet on his own. I love the dude and always will, but he really is embarrassing now.

The Soft Moon (S/T)…not normally my style of music, but I love this disc a lot. Think Suicide meets The Jesus and Mary Chain.
