So I apparently gotta check out Lab Report, because Eric Pounder’s solo CD is fucking AMAZING and is easily top ten material.
Fack.

LAB REPORT IS THE SHIT!
Currently listening to the Skeptic’s Guide to the Universe podcast. Good for the woo that ails ya.
Am pulling my old Saccharine Trust lps off the shelf and giving them a blast. That hardcore thread has made me nostalgic.
Nadja - Skin Under Glass
I’ve had these ridiculous migraines lately. This and the Pounder album are REALLY therapeutic.
scott walker, and it’s been over a hundred degrees here today, so why not listen to some drama. pablo’s hangin’ with the weezer guys. our buddy dan field is their manager. i can’t stomach that band and reserve commentary from the tall one but whatever.
KORG Triton Extreme - Apathy
Our studio gets hot pretty fast with all the gear giving off heat, so I moved the synth out to the coffee table in the living room. Screwed a red light bulb into the ceiling fan, and busted out the Chimay Blue. Yeah, I’m romanticizing programming a 1000 Homo DJs song, I know. Still, atmosphere can be helpful sometimes.
The song is sounding great, complete with the wide-open machine loop from the beginning of the song. I sampled the Halloween Remix snare drum a ways back, and it’s interesting to hear how many other Ministry/LIG/RevCo songs use that sample. That comes in handy since we’re playing songs from all of those groups. “Hatred” just happens to use that very snare sound. I believe it’s also one of Bill’s snare triggers on YGDSOB. I may be wrong, but it looks like he’s running his drum samples off an Akai sampler that’s sitting right by his kit.
Going to see FLA tomorrow night in Mesa. They were always one of my favorite Wax Trax bands. I feel like I lost touch with this band after Hard Wired (well, Implode was good, but I had to endure FLAvour Of The Weak before that). Still, I’m looking forward to the gig, and it’s the first concert I’m attending since Retrospectacle, so it makes for a cool bridge between Chicago and the upcoming party. I saw that TKK will be in town in late July, so the hits just keep on rollin’. If they can replicate their performance in April, I will be very pleased.
1002
Just spent the night revisiting my nu-metal days with a few friends, and in a two-hour-long negotiation, have gathered three other guys and are dead serious about making a Disturbed cover band. Our guitarist literally just learned “Liberate” and “Remember” tonight, and I’m seriously gonna spend the next few hours listening to the Believe album to get my vocal chops up to spec.
Yes, this is fucking ridiculous, but it’s gonna be FUN.
‘The Tree of Life’ soundtrack
still haven’t seen the film though
Into my semi-annual listening to lots of krautrock phase. Harmonia “Gollum” right now.
“Weird Al” Yankovich
Specifically the “When I was your age” song off of the Off the Deep End album
