One of my noise pals posted the video for “Guillotine” (google that shit, it’s crazy) on FB the other day and damn if this record ain’t tits. If you dig Tyler the Creator, you’ll probably really like this record (looking at you Icepick).
Also spinning the new Does It Offend You Yeah? and the new Man Man. the DIOYY? is pretty fuckin’ good, it’s not quite what I expected, not as immediately catchy and dancy as the first one, but incredibly funky. The new Man Man is a little disappointing, the seem to have turned down the weird and made a more “accessible” record, which don’t get me wrong is still full of good songwriting- but I first got into them because to me they sounded like the second coming of Bungle Christ I had been praying for.
Got that Ice - Bad Blood cd based on the recommendations here, dug it quite a bit, but it was pretty immediately eclipsed by that Death Grips record.
It goes it goes it goes it goes it goes it goes it goes…
Just now discovering Public Image Ltd. Me likes. Buddy of mine posted the Rise video on Facebook and I was pleasantly surprised (sex pistols are alright). Been mostly listening to their hits album to get better acquainted with their stuff. This Is not a Love Song is crazy catchy too. Again, another surprise. Never would’ve figured lydon to be capable of stuff like this.
People need to stop turning me on to new music, I’m feeling overwhelmed!
Story of my friggin’ life.
Spinnin’ Pounder’s E6 album. I’ve had this sitting around for almost a year or something, and finally listened to it this morning. Really cool, chill, laid back guitar stuff. Diggin’ it. It’s more in line with soundtrack material than anything else.
Was supposed to see Killing Joke last night, so I should;ve been listening to Jaz Coleman singing, but nooo the U.S tour got canceled…
We had a copy of Soundgarden’s Telephantasm at work [the library], and i’ve been listening to the music videos off of the dvd. The Day I tried to Live is such a beautiful video and definitely worth checking out.
Over the weekend I spotted a re-issue of the Offspring’s Ignition on vinyl, so thats been in the record player.
I’m catching all of his US tour dates next month and am in disbelief. I’ve only seen him with Soulsavers, and Isobel Campbell. Cannot wait. Whiskey for the Holy Ghost lives in my c.d player.
I think Field Songs is perfect, next to the Here comes that Weird Chill EP. i really loved the input Chris Goss had on his work.
I dont think he’s played anything off of that one since 2000, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. the shows are supposed to be acoustic, but they could always manage something.
