What Albums Have You Bought Recently??

I think we should keep a thread alongside the ‘What Are You Listening To…’ to list not only what we’ve been listening to but what we’re also buying in terms of music. Any albums that you have bought recently or ordered online, list:

Bobby Beausoleil - Lucifer Rising (4lp box set)
Grey Machine - Disconnected
Burial Hex - Initiations
Bastard Noise - Rrrevenge

Beyond the Vault 7 disc boxset from cEvin Key’s label, can’t wait!

I haven’t purchased a CD in… almost a month??? FUCK, I’m off my game.

Bobby Beausoleil - Lucifer Rising (4lp box set)

Bought this the other week.

Cost me a small fortune ($120) but well worth it. Been waiting for it since early this year.

Recently bought:

Nadja - Belles Betes LP
Nurse WIth Wound / Cyclobe - Angry Electric Finger
Soriah - Ofrendas de Luz A Los Muertos
Skullflower - Vile Veil LP
Boris / Merzbow - Sun Baked Snow Cave

Thomas Dolby - Golden Age Of Wireless (remaster/reissue)

TMDR remixed/mastered the tapes himself. The album is back in its original UK tracklisting, which means “She Blinded Me With Science” and “One Of Our Submarines” are now bonus tracks, and “Wreck Of The Fairchild” is back at track 6 on the album. 8 bonus tracks, including his first demos and the “Urges/Leipzig” single. Disc 2 is the first DVD release of the Live Wireless video from '83. It’s an awesome reissue, except European laws require a DVD rating label on front, in which case they SCREENED THE LABEL on the front album art. Grr. Otherwise, a great document of an underrated electronic musician, one of my personal big musical influences.

1002

Shit, also bought The Reegs’ “Definitive Collection”, which combines Rock The Magic Rock, Return Of The Sea Monkeys, the As You Leave and See My Friends singles, and a couple of newly-recorded tracks. Obviously something that fans of The Chameleons would be interested in.

Downloaded the best of from Skeletal Family off of Amazon, and like it or not, the new Simple Minds album Graffiti Soul is remarkable, best album they’ve put out in over 20 years.

I actually started a thread like this somewhere else at the beginning of the year and have tracked all my media purchases. I’d post it here but then I’d feel compelled to edit and update it every purchase, and it’s already a hassle doing that on the other board and on facebook where I keep a back-up. I’ll post it at the end of the year. I will say I’m now up to 128 cds. Keeping a list like this just makes you want to buy more shit to add to it. Here’s last month’s haul:

Just picked up some Stayte, their album and EP. Pretty good stuff.

Also bought the Gathering 2008 from Killing Joke off itunes as well (same as Stayte). Amazing, although it has the same songs on there a couple of times.

Heh… Just found a Voivod album I picked up on a whim a day or so before I took off up north, as the name’s been tossed around the board a couple times in relation to old school metal. Totally forgot about it until now… damn thing’s not even open.

Guess that counts.

Got some good bargain finds recently…

Helmet - Strap it On. Fifty cents!!!
Rolling Stones - Exile on Main Street
Peter Murphy - Recall EP. Always wanted to hear this one, a lot of the sound makes me nostalgic for late 90s KMFDM for obvious reasons and makes me beg the question why the Murphy version of “Today” didn’t end up on Adios
Yes - Self Titled. First impression is that the mix kinda mirrors that of the first Zep album, big loud drums and bass, less rigid than what would come later.
Guided by Voices - Under the Bushes Under the Stars. I’ve got a lot of GBV sitting here I need to listen to still. This album seems to have more studio polish than a lot of their catalog

Coil - Horse Rotorvator (on vinyl - for…alot of money)
