I’ve been selling cds as of late to the local record shop. over the past 2 weeks I think I’ve gotten rid of around 100 useless pieces of crap I had laying around. going again today, too.

I’ve been buying nothing but Scorn records as of late, have their first 3 + their latest one, and just ordered another 3 (the 3 after the first 3)

hope to pick up some newer Jesu today. and the fantomasmelvins big band dvd just came out, so I hope they have that too.

Been buying tons lately. Yesterday:

Arson Anthem: s/t
Miles Davis: Munich Concert (3cd live show on sale for $5.99)

don’t wish to piss off anybody here(i’m hidin my face) but i haven’t bought a record in about YIKES ten years…they come to me.and i get quite the collection going.testament new one came in the post a while ago.

I still haven’t checked that out. I love Testament but if I’m downloading something, I’d rather download some doom and lately I’ve made it a thing to try and not spend full price on a cd. Been buying used and sales.

Before those 2, last week’s were

Boris - Smile
Godflesh - Selfless
Crowbar - Lifesblood For the Downtrodden
Crowbar - Broken Glass

Godflesh was used $3 and the Crowbars were on sale for $4.

came home with the FantomasMelvins DVD, Pop Levi- Never Never Love (excellent electro pop rock)
T.Rex- Futuristic Dragon 2 cd remaster, a Roxy Music/T. Rex dvd with live performances from the early 70’s (essential for Eno buffs, but you can find these performances on youtube) , and in the mail today I got Kone- On Daddy’s Farm (a project from Phil Western of Download)

How’s that Kone CD? I have the last one he put out and there’s some good stuff on it.

very good, a nice continuation of the first disc but it has it’s own sound. Phil’s been amazing to us. Since November, he’s given us what, 7 releases? can’t go wrong with that. There’s another 3 releases he has planned for the year- a 72 minute version of the Frozen Rabbit track 26,000 , a new Frozen Rabbit album, and a followup to the Beehatch album (the project with himself and Mark Spybey- great stuff. ) Beehatch will also be going on tour in Europe this fall. I can’t see there being any more Download records anymore.

Im also selling my records…
I think Im over the collector phase. Now I just want a nice big HDD to fit all my flacs in

i keep forgetting about t-rex. goddamit, marc bolan.

in a good way, or bad way ed?
I personally think he was great. he was onto something in the early 70’s, fell off, started to get it back together around 76, and was dead in 77. his last tv appearance was a performance with bowie, whose career parallel’s bolan’s quite a bit.

I think Im over the collector phase.

I lost my job…and the plot recently (I am also being taken to court on a matter - which wasn’t my fault btw - that could see me jailed) and record collecting is the only thing (next to my girlfriend) that is keeping me sane right now. I am literally addicted to ebay as well and generally have about four or five bids going at any one time.

marc bolan was over the top. i’ve seen that tv appearance. i think i caught it at wax trax in chicago way back when.
love me my t-rex.

how’s the fantomas dvd? i’m really interested in hearing that audio commentary w/the melvins and danny davito

I just came home with the new lustmord a little while ago… nice dark evil music

props to you ed for the bolan post.

the fantomas dvd is cool. there’s a little bit of graphics here and there. the visual quality is a bit grainy, but it adds to the atmosphere. nice cuts and editing and parts too.
haven’t listened to the commentary yet though, but looking forward to it.
patton’s intro of the band members is hilarious

I need to check out that lustmord though.

Picked up Kicking Against The Pricks by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds pretty recently and Night Time by Killing Joke. I can admit that I don’t buy music as much as I used to, but when there’s something I really want, i’ll pay for it. Also bought the entire pearls to pigs series by modwheelmood, and the recent nin stuff (haven’t missed one yet).

merzbow? i was just at an indie store and me and the owner were talking about him. I was looking for the cd he did with genesis p-orridge and the owner was telling me there was no way in hell he was gonna carry merzbow simple because the guy has at least 100 cds out and he knows he’ll never have the one the customer is looking for.

100? heh, he’s got a 50 cd BOX. he’s well over 300+ releases. I enjoy Merzbow, but even for me, i just grab stuff at random. Complete discog of his stuff is well outta reach.

Pantaleimon - Heart of the Sun
