welcome to reality/ wax trax

I expect to meet some of you guys and have fun in Chicago for the retro. Chicago is my hometown. Not Evanston, or the other fuckin’ suburbs.Chicago. i worked for Jim and Dannie for five, going on six years and sometimes it was like a job, but mainly a mission. Listen to the new stuff and blast it as loudly as you could. Hearing Dannie ask me on Saturday mornings, “Baby, you wanna a bear? (beer)”, kept my sense of humour in high gear .
Unleash the mayhem for the Wax Trax reunion.
And yes, I have been married to that tall guy for going on 22 years.

Holy crap. You guys have been fornicating under the consent of king for as long as I’ve been alive.

Cosmic.

[shocked]

And I have been to Australia, for Big Day Out, with progeny in tow. Yes, THAT tour.

I was 8 years old… [shocked]

Tell Paul to come back for a Flowering Blight tour.

Hello there!

During the '80s, I used to love coming into the Chicago store on vacations and picking up Wax Trax releases well before they were available everywhere else. I must have had Revco’s Big Sexy Land CD months earlier than general retail (kept checking my local Tower to see). Remember being in the store when Luc walked in one time and all the employees yelled, “LUC… VAN… ACKER!” - like in the Revco VHS.

I recall having repeated conversations with a very nice female, I think in mail order, that would always tell me how she wished she lived in Nashville because The Grinning Plowman and Dessau were located here. I was like, “What?!! I’d trade with you any day!”

Good times… !

Ok…
Good for you.

Hello Gerda. If I were you I’d watch out as so many Prongers here are totally gay for your husband [;)]

But in all seriousness, nice of you to post and say hi. See you in Chicago.

My wife is totally Hetero for your husband! She was all giddy when we met him at the knitting factory in Los Angeles when he was playing with USSA. We saw you there with your daughter also but we had already bothered your hubby with Ministry autographs and didn’t want to be “those” people so we stayed away after we got the autographs. Made our day how nice, gracious and humble he was. thanks again for posting… I’m really bummed we can’t be there for the reunion[:(]
Late,

I’m Paul Barker for Paul Barker.

Wow, a fellow Nashvillian! Plowman was easily one of my favorite local bands. Too bad they broke up after only 3 albums. There was a pretty good scene here in the 80’s/90’s, but you’re right, nothing close to Chicago.

Hello Gerda! Glad to have you stop by. Looking forward to April as well.

Hi there Carmangary. I expect you’ll keep up the good work with your posts, and never lose that hammertime. makes me laugh. every time.
I have been reading the posts on prongs forever. Yes, I know all about the gay for Paul thing. Hilariously true. I join the club. (sigh)
Hope to keep Connelly in check during the festivities. May come to blows, or I tell him to hold his tongue- a rather formidable task, since he’s such a prolific (and good) writer. will be seeing Afra quite a bit, since we are staying at his groovy pad. later.

Bisquit, grmpysmrf and Dastardly, hello!
Sorry you Senor smurf can’t go, but there will be lots of press, and footage, and my daughter is a photographer. Don’t think she’ll have problems with taking stills anyway. And Connelly’s wife is filming, so there you go. And Paul Elledge will be there.

Well at least it’s getting filmed. That makes me less of a sad panda for missing it

Word.

Welcome aboard, Gerda. Your husband is some kind of golden God.

Greetings from Cleveland to Gerda and everyone else headed out to the big weekend.

Gerda- My friend and I had the privilege of meeting Paul, Max and Louis during the 2003 tour (still arguably the best performance out of the seven time’s I’ve seen Ministry since '96). Even though we had VIP tags to hang out after the show, we were scared shitless of even approaching the guys. Paul made the first gesture and welcomed us to the party; made us feel like part of the gang for the short time we hung out. We’d go on to see him with USSA in '07. Another excellent performance. All the best!

Welcome Gerda…I’ve been a long fan of Paul & Ministry…I don’t post much but I come to the board daily. Afra’s a great guy…Have fun at the shows!

Icepick and Revco, always entertaining. Thanks for the welcome. Although Mi Esposo doesn’t spend time here, I am liason for the hilarity. And Icepick, nice antidote to( I believe ) special ed’s ill health–“Menudo and beer…”
Classic.

Speaking of special ed, what do you hear from that guy? Is he ever coming back to the board? When is his book due out?

Got more questions… what’s up with your hubby? Is still making music? Or is he strictly on the other side of the glass now? The reason I ask is because USSA has been silent for some time and we’ve heard nothing else about flowering blight other than it was released and now jello is pushing it at A.T. anything new on the horizon with him or is everything all about wax trax for the moment?
Thanks

BTW Welcome Gerda. My apologies for not welcoming sooner. I’m just pissy I’ll be missing the real RevCo and the cool lineup of KMFDM
