USSA

Got a myspace message form them saying they are working on a new album. Thought I would pass it on.

they be workin’ in nashville next week.

yeah cool but they also planned a re-release of their first album with 2 new songs, what happened to that?

not clear on that one–will have to check my …uh…sources.
Ed on the phone:“Duane what the fuck?!”
Ed on the phone: “Paul what the fuck?!”
oh boy, i see trouble coming…

I’d still rather hear Flowering Blight.

I’d rather hear more Pink Anvil or something new altogether. This band is so fucking boring and mediocre. At least fire the singer and get some programming in there. Make it more creative. I don’t even know how to describe what they do aside from “Rock”…

yeah. there is that meandering about.
that’s all i can safely say.
i never liked the singer either. well, maybe something else shakes out with this new recording. you guys know it goes up and comes down and stuff gets tweaked in the studio and stuff gets added and taken away.(here i am–not a musician, but having worked in the industry for ever)
fingers crossed.

At least fire the singer and get some programming in there.

So, What? You want Stephen Hawking to rock the mic?

I’m going to have to agree with poopular opinion - USSA is boring to the bone. Let’s hope Paul releases that Flowering Blight material or that the new USSA is more in the vein of his Pucifer remix (which was awesome).

I enjoyed USSA, they were great live. And I’ll buy a new album

BUT…

I’d still rather hear Flowering Blight.

I ordered, and received, a SEALED cassette of the cock’s magnum opus “linger ficken good” I shall put it in the Connelly hall of fame, which is in the back of my sock drawer, baby.

I too would rather see flowering blight finally come out.

It’s really the singer that does them in for me.
The flat and dull comments sum his voice up well.
It sounds like someone who has had some amateur singing lessons and then tries to sing rock & roll.
Just doesn’t work for me.

Unfortunate.
:frowning:

I had hoped for better when I heard about the band (ex ministry, jesus lizzard, etc.).

connelly!
got any argyles or woolies in that drawer? how’s about some almost knee high black numbers, hm?
(think i may have actually personally ransacked your “sock drawer” and found all sorts of unidentifiable “items.” now
furiously searching the back catalogue of chris items…uh, i mean, interesting artifacts)

Why didn’t I get a goddamned message? [laugh]

I’m pretty psyched, though. I love me some USSA. They’re the closest thing I like to indie rock, and they do it without pretention and with musical skill.

(I’m DEFINITELY eagerly awaiting the Flowering Blight stuff.)

I would like to reiterate the wish for more Flowering Blight.

duane dennison is a bad ass guitarist. i think.

"duane dennison is a bad ass guitarist. i think. "

Yeah, I always liked the Jesus Lizard.
David Yow is awsome too.

Any Scratch Acid fans around here?
When people ask me who they are I always tell them that Scratch Acid is the best band you’ve never heard of.

Too bad Rey Washam is not doing stuff anymore. He posed on his myspace page just before he closed it down that he was becoming a stay at home dad full time, which is laudable I suppose, but kind of a bummer for those that like his drumming.

Yep I can’t get into USSA. I tried and tried. I love Paul, love Tomahawk. But for some reason this band has never clicked for me.

A full Flowering Blight track would be most appreciated.

hmm i had ignored that sample till now (flowering) i like it though it reminded me first of ‘happy dust’ and then when the drums kicked in ‘corrosion’ (the drums) without all the distortion , still very cool though

I have “The greatest gift” but I can’t really get into it. I’ve listened to it several times but nothing ever jumps out at me.
