Yeah, I really couldn’t care less about the DVD. I do like Omar’s photography work, though, so I may pick up the photo book (kind of like when they used to sell tour programs at concerts, haha).
Also, I suspect that the "never before seen video footage of . . . . men sitting around in a studio talking about sitting around in a studio . . . will get uploaded to YouTube anyway, so I’m not too concerned about getting it on a limited edition DVR or anything.
Lacking a few details…comic book format with ads…is it gonna be the cheapo paper they do comic books on? Mind you, I haven’t looked at a comic in 25 years.
^
I had that same question.
I’m assuming that “comic book form” just refers to a loose booklet, staple-bound, as opposed to a legit book with a spine and such.
I suspect that they’d use some legit heavy stock and or semi-glossy paper for this, as opposed to the comic-style newsprint.
But . . . . it’s Ministry. I’m not making any guarantees, haha!!!
I saw this too and didn’t think twice about it. Why does anybody want footage of by far the least interesting period of the band? By the way, the footage he did release back in the day wasn’t the least bit compelling.
If you’re a fan of Mike, I’m sure there’s some final behind the scenes stuff in there.
That’s really the main appeal for me.
If it were all tour stuff of FBTE much care. But some nice photos would be cool.
I haven’t decided whether I’ll pony up an extra $10 for the DVD or not.
I’ll probably get the book and dvd. I just wanna know who drops a hundo to have their name in the thank you section. I wouldn’t want my name in anything I hadn’t laid eyes on…what if it’s shit! I’ve seen other campaigns do that, like a Dino Jr book, but they had pictures of the book and it was super nice, hardbound. This, even $15 or $25, is going out on a limb for something that really isn’t clearly described.
I’m not trying to be a hard on, but the whole comic thing gives me pause. Good paper or not, staples are cheap and can rust over time.
He should post a photo of a prototype. He could have even thrown a select few photos into the video to give us an idea. What if 90% of the photos are Tommy Victor and the back of Sammy D’s head?
[reply][reply][reply]Most comic books haven’t used newsprint in decades. For those who are interested in knowing.
Ha! Good to know! The last comic in my possession was an issue of Swamp Thing in the early 80’s.[/reply]
Hell yeah! I had some SWAMP THING comics too![/reply]
Swamp Thing rules! Even love the movie Wes Craven directed. Christ! Just looked it up, 1982. I’m old.[/reply]
Alan Moore’s run on the book is one of my favorite things of all time. I’ve got the full run, along with everything else he did in the 80’s and collect the original art from the series. Not that I’m a comic junkie, or anything like that…
If they have ads in the back for X-Ray glasses, plans for mini-bikes and hovercrafts, and instructions on how to pick up chicks then I might be interested.
. . . . and slightly pornographic SEA MONKEYS suggesting that you’ll have an aquarium full of mermaid and mermen type creatures with crowns and tridents, living in castles and shit . . .
That book looks awesome.
I love the ad for “Invisible Helmet”.
One that I always remember (aside from the obvious heavyweights like XRAY SPECS and SEA MONKEYS) was “Build Your Own Submarine”. I’ll have to Google to see if there’s an image of that one.
