Soon I can leave this place:

I am low and slow
Nice! At first I thought this might be a fake using the photos from discogs, but it’s the official Wax Trax account, so it’s definitely legit. I didn’t think Julia and her husband had one, but it’s good to see another copy surface. A warning: it’s recorded at slightly the wrong speed, if that matters to you.
And $40 already… This one’s going to get expensive.
I’ve got this auction on my watch list
Its over 100 now with 4 days to go. Damn, id love to hear it but probably aint going to happen at this point.
Late,

Hm…
Maybe if everyone here who wants a high quality rip of it chips in a couple of bucks to one buyer (who would pay the most obviously, since they’d be getting the physical copy), the buyer could then share with all the contributors.
If someone wanted to do that.

That would be insane. Hot damn.

According to discogs doesn’t Bidquitodoom have one? why doesn’t he just rip copies? I was going to bid, being an audio and mastering engineer I could have made amazing sounding digital copies and fixed any speed issues. Yea, all I really want is to hear the songs.
Yeah…please share if someone buys it here. Of course I want it but I won’t bid if someone hear buys it. Plus over 100 beans is alot.
This thread proves that David Hannum was right.
I have one, but haven’t spread the tracks around out if respect for Paul. He’s mentioned releasing it a couple times. Didn’t want to cost him any units.

Just curious, how did you score it?

respect! but I don’t see Paul ever releasing it.

Off a guy who bought it at some store in Cleveland back in the mid-90s. No idea how it got there. There are maybe 5 of them out there. If I recall correctly, Paul didn’t even remember that any had been pressed.

Yeah, he’s had decades.
I would like to hear this finally.

That’s a great story, I wonder how the eff it got there. I know a lot of wax trax employees used to sell test pressings to fans and/ore record stores for extra $$, but it sounds like there are so few of these it wouldn’t have even made it to the Wax Trax Store or label employees. Most wax trax test pressings were pressed in fairly large quantities and often used as promotional materials too. Where do you get the number 5 as to the number that would have been pressed? that’s a super small pressing. However, after all these years apparently we only have two accounted for, so who knows
…and what’s the story as to why this was never released?
I say 5 because I know of 2 copies, now 3. It was on the top of my “must have” list for well over a decade before I tracked it down and I’ve not seen or heard of another since, even with folks who are very connected. Could be more. Who knows. Maybe Paul has a garage full of them, but I doubt it.
IIRC bisquitodoom when we met Paul he did say he had a fair amount of LIG vinyl that he still had in storage, dunno if he was referring to this or all or what, but he did tell us the tracklist at the time when there wasn’t even a copy known to exist in the general public.
I’m sure he has this, there’s gotta be a reason why TVT didn’t re-release LIG out of everything else on WaxTrax, he probably had masters rights.
