But the real question is still why wasn’t this ever released? If you look at it’s position in the catalog it was well before bankruptcy or TVT buyout. Plenty of releases after this still under the Original Wax Trax umbrella
Paul’s not know for being quick at production. If I had to guess, I’d say it was delayed until the buyout was immenent and he wasn’t too keen on letting TVT sink their claws into any material new of his after the whole Trent thing, like the Linger Fickin’ Good material. Or else Jim & Dannie had to cut back on releases after taking a bath on that Chris & Cosey album. Either way, this is as rare a Ministry-related release as you’ll ever see.

So do you think it’s a good release? I love wi 100% of my being Faster Than Light and Age of Reason, but the of LiG is sort of here and there. Would you put it as a top or middle tier release?
Just as good as Age Of Reason. Easily.
Just to clarify (as I was quite unclear in my first post) do you mean the song Age of Reason or the album?
I was talking about the songs in both cases. Thanks so much! It’s really quite exciting for such a rarity to get out there.
I like Sweetest Kiss a bit better than Crybaby, but they’re both among the best LIG tracks. My favorite’s still Lunatic/Genius, but there’s a remix of that on there as well so I was set. If you like Age Of Reason (the song) and Faster Than Light (the song) you’ll definitely like it. Same feel as the other releases completely.

Cool, thanks so much! I bid today, but its past $150 now so I’m going to give it a rest. Someday!
I’d be surprised if it doesn’t get into the $300+ range. I know there are a ton of people watching it closely.
Is LIG the only thing TVT didn’t re-issue? I mean, they even re-released the PTP and Acid Horse projects
So I guess $200 is where it lands? Unless there’s a lot of last minute action…
Or maybe not. Wow! That was quite a finish!

Wow! No kidding. I was guessing it might hit $260 or so (based solely on the chatter I’ve read round here), but . . . . someone REALLY wanted that damn record. Congratulations to someone. 23 bids, huh huh huh!
[reply]Just curious, how did you score it?
Off a guy who bought it at some store in Cleveland back in the mid-90s. No idea how it got there. There are maybe 5 of them out there. If I recall correctly, Paul didn’t even remember that any had been pressed.[/reply]
Very interesting, since I’m a CLE local with some familiarity with the record shops in the area. My initial guesses as to which stores this may have surfaced are West Side shops such as Shattered, Chris’ Warped Records (out of business), maybe Platter Puss, or My Mind’s Eye.
As for how it got to CLE, Alternative Press was a very active in terms of giving WT bands coverage in their magazine. Complete conjecture at this point, but maybe they were among the first to get promos and test pressings?
Yeah, that jumped up a fair bit at the end didn’t it?
WOW.
I bid 500 within the last 12 seconds but came up very short. Sad day

I wasn’t expecting it to go that high and I woulda been dismayed if I won it for that much. I was trying to cover the spread and came up very short. but yeah, this would’ve been easily the most I had paid for a record had I won it.

So someone bid 700 at the last minute and someone else bid something (im guessing much) higher. The 700 guy must be ticked.

“Oh, shit. I won it. Uhhhh, Honey?”
A co-worker of mine (about 10 years ago) “accidentally” bought a car on Ebay. Some cheesey little classic “kit car” based on an old convertible Mercedes coupe.
It looked like something that some lame ass French guy would be driving in an Agatha Christie detective story or something. I bought him some ridiculous goggles and a scarf/gloves just to rub it in properly.
