It’s been eight years now. Have they finalised the plans for what is to be built there? And if so, what is the official ‘hold up’??

Don’t know how privy the rest of the world is on American infrastructure but we are in the middle (hopefully not the beginning ) of a massive depression right now (official numbers are hovering at about 10% unemployment. real figures are more like 15%-16% unemployment) So I would imagine unless one of these tycoons that has siezed most of the wealth in this country comes in to build/finance something, that were gonna have those beams of light for several more years… Sad. Last I’d heard no plans had been drawn as of yet, It was also kicked around that the sites were to become a memorial park. Who knows man!
I think Voidhead might be the one to really know. I’m pretty sure he’s in New york.

yep the official #'s are 9.6% but that’s misleading because those are the unemployment #'s and you only get unemployment for a couple of months (maybe a year) and when you’re unemployment runs out they don’t count you as unemployed anymore even if you still are. so the real #'s as I’ve said are estimated around 15-16% unemployment we’ve had several MAJOR business’s go bankrupt including circuit city and Mervyn’s. The country is in bad shape!! there talking about how another great depression has been averted with the trillion dollar stimulus but i say bullshit! nobody has replaced those now defunct businesses with any type of new business. Professionals are having to go back to work at fast food joints because they’re being laid off! W fucked this country up and ran it into bankruptcy just as he did with all of the other companies he was in charge of! FUCK THAT ASSHOLE!!! [mad]

I think these unemployment figures constitute the population who could be working, ie. not children or the retired. So 10% would not equate to 30 million, but is probably not too far from 20 million.

Well, perhaps, but simple econ tell us when we cut taxes for the wealthiest people(even if we implemented a flat) and force the middle class to shoulder ALL of the tax burden that’s when all of the wealth in any country gets sucked upward! and those tax cuts were ALL bush! deregulation doesn’t work and neither do tax cuts. you need a referee when it comes to business and taxes and W’s domestic policies removed the referee! That’s where the wealth went (aside from the war but that $$ went to the wealthiest people anyway, again, through the no bid contracts!)

I’m a bit concerned…by the end of the month, I won’t have health insurance (leaving my job) . Won’t really have the funds to pay a monthly bill for health insurance. The good news is I rarely ever get sick, and am still young (23) , so I guess I don’t need it in the near future…
haven’t had health insurance that i could afford in four years. always paid my own way, then got laid off, and then it get’s to the point where you can’t go to the doctor, because it will cost you big time.
