Man,this show rules so hard…best thing on tv at the moment…dark, brooding, smart and atmospheric…incredibly well acted with immense set design and location shoots…everything is right with this one…and so far the music on the show has consisted of:
13th Floor Elevators
Sleep
Melvins
Primus
Grinderman
Wu-Tang Clan
Boogie Down Productions
The Kinks
Bo Didley
Slim Harpo
Vashti Bunyan
Steve Earle
just to name a few…
incredible show…
It’s an anthology series so each season will be a new cast, characters, plot etc…
I don’t find it in the least bit boring at all…it’s a slow burn yes,but never boring…to much great acting and incredible atmosphere to ever bore me…the uncut 6 minute sequence in the ghetto in episode 4 were some of the most intense minutes I’ve ever seen…can’t wait to see how they wrap this season up…3 more to go…
Apparently she’s been in these Percy Jackson movies, which are like cheap Harry Potter knock offs. Fans have been waiting for her to tackle her first “adult” role. . .and this is what they got.
It’s like the first time you saw Drew Barrymore naked.
Worth the wait!!!..sheesh…it seems like we might not get a chance to see her again…not sure if that character will appear again based on last weeks show…
Yeah,I figured you would dig it,Akbar…it was a wonderful 8 episodes…HBO continues their stellar run of adult drama’s…they will have their work cut out for them next season…
This show JUST YESTERDAY was released on DVD/Blu-Ray. There are 8 episodes, of which I’ve seen the first and half of the second.
My wife stumbled on it on our Tokyo–>LAX flight (she caught 3 episodes) about a week ago and has been raving about it and counting the days until the DVD’s were out.
I am really loving it too. Dark and moody, but also kind of funny (specifically the interchange between straight-man Woody Harrelson and brooding-psycho-oddball Matthew McConoughey.
The cinematography and shooting style is really beautiful and the soundtrack . . . yeah, super badass and perfectly blended with the themes/ content.
Anyway . . . I’m loving it and I might actually have to buy my wife HBO when we get done watching the DVD’s so that she can keep up with the next series. (Yeah, yeah, I know, blame the wife, hahaha!!!)
