Troy Davis - murdered?

What do you think about this?

No DNA or forensic evidence found and no gun recovered. Nine eyewitnesses, some of which recanted (claiming police coercion). 22 years on death row.

I’m not an outright, no exceptions opponent of execution but if there’s any doubt whatsoever, execution has to be out of the question. Better to run up a huge bill housing 1,000 murdering maniacs than kill one man who may not have done what he’s accused of.

Oh well, he could just as well have been hit by a drunk driver or overdosed on drugs. Life isn’t always fair but it’s pretty fair.

Come on that’s rediculous.

I was wondering if they went ahead with his execution.

The conviction wasn’t safe by the sound of it and it’s horrible that the state has bumped him off regardless.

you win the contest for most highhanded ignorant youtube comment of the day.

this was/is a travesty… i haven been doing a lot of letter-writing and protests about this case for a while now… this was unjust, unfair (and fuck whatever you think, the LEGAL system is SUPPOSED to be fair) and clearly an act of political indifference and racism.

the west memphis three finally go free by admitting guilt they DONT have, troy davis is murdered, what next?

wtf is going on down there?

no doubt the states will collapse in on itself like all the other “great” civilizations/superpowers.

Nothing is fair.

yeah, but most people don’t lose their lives over it.

If only Gerda Barker was his lawyer. Then he would’ve been set free years ago.

Actually, most people DO lose their lives due to life not being fair.[/reply]
I didn’t lose my life because the milk that I had bought at the store 2 days ago was already expired. I didn’t lose my life because the ups tracker said my package had already arrived even though it didn’t come till the next day.

So I would argue most things in life aren’t fair but you don’t usually lose your life over it.

Nothing is fair.

no, you are right, mr. oh-so-cynical.

nothing is fair, so we should just stop trying to do the right thing, we should just allow people to be murdered because they are black an int he wrong place at the wrong time. we should stop being outraged by abuses of power and miscarriages of justice. we should just stop trying to do anything because some boy on the internet has so wonderfully pointed out (in a cool hip flippant manner) that nothing is fair anyway, so its just ‘eh’ that a man was brutally and hatefully murdered in cold blood the other night.

The Afterlife Postal Service is notoriously inefficient. It’s in such disrepair that there are still currently millions of people worldwide who are waiting for messages to be delivered to them who have yet to receive them.

Sometimes you end up on death row despite being innocent and you end up being executed for it! It’s a fact of life.

Some of it probably ends with pride. They could’ve been wrong buy refused to admit the slightest possibility that the guy could’ve been innocent.

The Post-Life Postal Service is not just inefficient, it’s inDIFFERENT.

i find it fucking sickening that things like this can happen. it doesn’t even matter if he was guilty, the fact that there just wasn’t any solid evidence proving it should have been enough to stop this act of murder (yep, definitely murder). so much for the presumption of innocence. i’m so glad the UK abolished the death sentence back in the 60’s. the whole thing makes the American ‘justice’ system look incredibly bad to the rest of the world (well, most of the rest of the world…) and no different to places like Iran or China. i’m pretty sure that’s not a comparison most US citizens would like to have made [:/]

I like the death penalty. I’m all for putting murdering, raping, child molesters to death.

I don’t know this particular story, but, yeah . . . I do think we should be as positive as possible that some dude (or gal) is in fact guilty before we hang, shoot, gas, inject, or fry them.

So because some murderers get away with murder, Troy Davis getting executed is no big deal?

It’s a big deal if you are Troy Davis or one of his family members. Otherwise, no, not such a big deal.

so ignore until it happens to you??

genius idea.

let’s all look the other way, that way it gets easier and easier for the powers that be to pull this type of shit off…

I’ll bet the powers in charge could probably wipe away an entire culture of people off the planet if we all looked the other way when this shit happens.

Yea, they’re out to wipe you out. That’s exactly what’s up.

If that’s the best you’ve got…

you seem to be missing the point.

a HUMAN BEING was ruthlessly murdered for somethign he didnt do. there is no conditioning or coloring that can be done here. he was killed and people allowed it to happen. you flippant attitude of ‘oh well, i dont care’ is EXACTLY what is wrong with society now. this kinda ‘well i wasnt hurt, so fuck everyone else’

fucking disgusting.

I’m not missing the point at all. I just don’t agree with you.

I can name many more instances of people being murdered while others stand by and let it happen. Why should I get bent out of shape about this clown who may or may not be guilty? He had his due process.

he DIDNT though. he was put in jail without enough evidence, convicted without enough, and then given the death penalty based ont he testimony of THE OTHER WITNESS. he wasnt given a fair chance.

He’s guilty of something - they arrested him, right? He wouldn’t have been in that situation if he wasn’t doing something wrong, plus there were witneSses? Why does people here say he’s innocent?
