This is a lot of content. Its nice to have all of this in one package. Some of this stuff I should have owned and heard but didn’t until now. Example, original Let’s get physical. Now I know where the four Chris Connelly “TALKS” in the “remixed” version comes from.
The long Get Down version (CD 7) I have on my original release of BSQ. I always noticed that the time labeled was much shorter than my version. So when did the shortened version come into play?

love the PTP pictures.
The LP had the shorter version and the CD had the longer version.
Fish in Cold Water sounds less amazing than I’d hoped. RevCo really opted for the right sound to run with on BSL. It’s so interesting to see the other sort of sounds they were playing with, like the Pailhead track with Chris on vocals from his old “best of”, it gives a peek behind the curtain.
There’s an album or two of more “poppy” stuff that Luc was working on at that time. Never saw release, but there’s some good stuff on there. Well… if you didn’t like that track, it’s probably not up your alley. But I like it.
“Same Old Scene” is great. Did Al cut this one by himself?
There was that Option Magazine article from 1996 where it said “…Jourgensen deliberately sabotaged his relationship with Arista by submitting a demo of an outrageously sarcastic, ultra-lite cover of Roxy Music’s “Same Old Scene.” The label dropped Ministry.”

Luc’s solo stuff that I’ve heard never really did much for me though I did dig his 3 Angry Poles single, when he goes pop his voice just turns me off a bit. Still, I might come around to it I find myself kind of fascinated by Fish even though i didn’t much like it, which might be my ears getting used to a sound.

Mystery solved?!?
Poor Clive Davis. How often does an rich, successful, experienced record company executive who is holding all the strings get outwitted by a 25 year old who doesn’t have a pot to piss in. Maybe Clive just had a bad day or something.
Yeah, I don’t buy it for a second. The only thing that seems weird is the Roxy Music version only predates this by a few years. It just seems odd he would cover a song that was newer.
“Here We Go” is a bigger middle finger to Arista than “Same Old Scene” and they actually released it. [laugh]
