2011

It’s not too early to start thinking about 2011 releases.

What’s coming out music-wise in the new year???

Looks like it will be a year to get excited over.

And so far I’m excited about:

Tool - tba

Yeah, well when it finally does drop (put down the bong Justin there’s work to be done) every man and his donkey will be talking about it so you can’t half blame me for being excited. I mean it’s what, five or six years between drinks.

Earth - Angels Of Darkness, Demons Of Light

I was just boning up over this in an email to Evil D. A new Earth album is always good news.

Aphex Twin - tba

Well, he says there’s at least one new album in the new year. Supposedly he’s sitting on three that are ready to be released. But saying it and showing it are two different things.

Sunn - O))) - tba

Hopefully a new one in '11.

Ulver - tba

Psyche was scrapped. Hope there’s more new material in the works.

Burzum - tba

Criticise me all you like. I really don’t care.

Skinny Puppy - tba

What’s taking so long?

Secret Chiefs 3 - Book Of Souls

Get yr head outta them books Trey and release the damn thing already.

Neurosis - tba

Their last album was my favorite of theirs.

Panda Bear - Tomboy

Supposedly it’s nearing completion.

I’m looking forward to Akron/Family’s new album dropping early next year.

Panda Bear will have to pull something out of the bag to make something as good as Person Pitch.

2011 will have some pretty awesome music if 2010 is anything to go by.

Fleet Foxes
Marissa Nadler
Current 93
I’m a bit of a folkie, yeah.

Tool and the new Tim Skold are the only albums I’m really looking forward to so far. I also plan on checking out Dr. Dre’s Detox only bc it’s the Chinese Democracy of rap

this:

There is a new KMFDM album due out in February.

And maybe Buck Satan’s album will come out? [laugh]

Looking forward to plenty of new black metal in '11. As always.

There’s probably heaps of good shit coming out. I never keep track of future material from bands I like until it’s virtually about to be released.

TOOL would be the obvious one in 2011. Still a long way off though.

2011 just got a little darker.

I’m looking forward to the new Marilyn Manson album coming in 2011. I hope he finally makes a great record again! Either way I’m sure we’ll have something to prompt discussion/derision on here.

Fred Sabian from Goon Moon has joined the fold along with the Twiggy, Chris Vrenna and Ginger Fish team which was behind ‘The High End of Low’ so I think he’s got a good team behind him so it’s really up to MM himself to make something great.

Here are Twiggy’s words on the new album:

Barry Gibb really is the best songwriter of all time

He looks like a black dude!!!

He looks like a homeless person.

Also, Akbar is the only one that will willingly confirm this for me, but he looks like Justin Bobby from The Hills.

Devin Townsend - Deconstruction/Ghost

He looks like a homeless black dude.
Isn’t his dad black or something? I’m not fully up on the ethnicities of Manson’s band.

RevCo World recently remixed the song “Show Me What You Got” for the Italian electroclash band Tying Tiffany. They will be back in the studio soon to make a new album.

RevCo World makes albums now? I guess that’s something else for us to look forward to.

I always thought it was kind of ironic that “RevCo World” actually has MORE original members of Revolting Cocks than RevCo (which has zero).

I bet their set list is better too.

I hadn’t heard of RevCo World until just now.
I’m now officially looking forward to this project.

Cool thanks for the tip. I’m looking forward to this myself.

revco world? is that even legal? lol. i wonder what al thinks about that.

The live footage of Revco Sound System made the project look and sound even worse than Nu Cocks, if that is possible.
