Having watched the Halloween remake, I can safely say I will never watch another film marked “Directed by Rob Zombie” if I live to be 100.

It’s a shame, he could have been a good director, i loved The Devil’s Rejects, but House of 1000 Corpses wasn’t very good, neither was Hallowe’en and i hear Hallowe’en 2 is fucking despicable.
Lords of Salem is OK.
Just OK, though.
Well, i’m unemployed now because i quit my last job, i worked in a bank’s credit card service department. One of my first calls was an old man ranting and raving for 45 minutes about a 1 penny interest charge on his credit card bill. He screamed at me for 45 minutes straight over a fucking penny.
I’ve worked in customer service for;
-
a phone company - “I never called these sex lines! Are you trying to say i’m a pervert? How dare you, i demand these calls to be removed from my bill!” “Ok sir, do you lve with anyone else who might have called them?” “Well, i have a 16 year old son, but he would NEVER call a sex line!”
-
a DIY company, who were terrible, deliveries never came on time, people had always removed their kitchens and bathrooms in anticipation of the new one arriving for installation. “I’ve got no way of cooking for mt family! I can’t get washed, i can’t use the toilet because YOU said it’d be delivered and i’ve torn the old ones out!”
-
a TV company that was just starting out and had serious tech problems, as well as dumbass customers who didn’t know how to use it "I never ordered the porn channels! What do you mean “did anyone else in our house order it?! Are you saying my husband is a pervert?!”
I’ve done a lot of that sort of shit, it’s very boring and lots of the customers are entitled pricks who think they can treat you like trash. Sometimes the customers are great and you feel awful because you can’t help them as you should be able to because of red tape. No matter what company i’ve worked for it always comes down to “I never ordered this, i’m not a pervert”, hahaha. The last one, the credit card job, i was talking to a customer who, when i looked at his account, had a refund on his card for a dildo and charges for a load of other kinky stuff. He was ok though, but lots of them are cunts. It just degrades your trust and respect for the general public. I’m never going to do another job like that, it’s depressing as fuck!
There was also a lot of anti-Irish sentiment and general racism from some of the customers - one i always remember was when i had to explain some ludicrous bit of red tape bullshit to a customer (who was an asshole already, making snide comments and thinking he was above dealing with a minion like me) and he went “Huh! That’s a bit Irish innit?”. I got really annoyed and demanded that he explain himself, he didn’t think he was saying anything wrong. You’d get people who were ok, but then started coming out with stuff like “I’m glad i’m not speaking to some fucking Paki again, i hate Pakis, don’t you?”.
Some of the people i worked with were trouble-making, hateful bastards, the people i worked for were sometimes absolute fuckheads who give me nothing to work with, but expected miracles in return. The clients who we all worked for were fucking dicks for the most part too. All round crap work, you’re lucky to have an interesting job!
Damn J,the guy busted your balls for a penny? A fucking penny? I’m guessing it was less about the penny and more about the need to bitch about something in his shitty life…wow, dude I commend you…I wouldn’t last 5 minutes doing that work…my patience for people of the sort you mentioned is greatly lacking…
[reply]I am so depressed that I have to admit to seeing “The Pest”. My buddy and I used to watch movies all the time. He brought that one home one time and I STILL hate him for it. Truly one of the worst movies ever made.
Can’t be any worse than The Village.[/reply]
Yes it can…unbelievably…
Gunnar-when we did some work on that movie there was no hiding the fact that it was an epic steaming turd…everyone knew it but had to pretend otherwise…embarrassing…it actually hurts my resume hahaha…

I liked Devil’s Rejects quite a bit actually…cool exploitation flick that had a nice dusty 70s feel…1000 corpses wasn’t good but I did like some of the visual flare…everything else is dogshit…Halloween 2 was especially terrible…
Have yet to see Lords of Salem…I have unanimously heard it described as “just ok”…
Lords of Salem is OK.
Just OK, though.
Ah yeah, i’d meant to check it out and totally forgot about it. Good cast of familiar faces in it anyway.

Haha, i know! I tried to explain it to him but he was just not having any of my explanations and ranted and raved at me for ages. He eventually calmed down and told me about his other (insignificant) victories against his local council and other people who had annoyed him in some minor way. What a ballbag.
The first time i watched Lords of Salem I loved it. I was high as shit though. The second time it was just okay.
He’ll never top Devil’s Rejects. I’ll still check out his originals though. He comes up with some great imagery and atmosphere, just needs some help on the writing.
Curious to see what he does when he steps out of the horror genre with his next film…
has he said what his next one will be? is he finally doing tyrannosaurus rex?
one great thing about salem was he didn’t have his usual white trash dialogue. it made the characters more likeable and i thought his wife was pretty good despite all the hate she gets for always being a main character. as long as he keeps giving us gratutious body shots of her it’s all good by me.
Yep,he is making a hockey movie called 'Broad Street Bullies",believe it or not…
Huh, I’ve been avoiding this thread assuming it would be a lot of Megadeth talk, this is actually much more interesting!

HAHA!!!
Do you try to gloss over it in your list of projects?
. . . . “Star Wars”, “Pulp Fiction”, “Bridges of Madison County”, [cough]“a film with John Leguizamo”[cough], “The Ring”, “Grownups” . . . .

Hahaha,that’s exactly right…
It’s speaks volumes when you are more proud of the work you did on a never released pilot for a Latin soap opera than you are of a major motion picture…

Did you really work on “Bridges of Madison County”? Clint is the fucking man!
has he said what his next one will be? is he finally doing tyrannosaurus rex?
I was really hoping fr a film of that at some point, the comic was great and Diamond Dallas Page would have been perfect in the film. I still hope it happens. The Devil’s Rejects is unassailably brilliant though, it’s a masterpiece of dread (with lots of humour) and he will never top it. It reminds me of what Sam Peckinpah might have done had he decided to make the rapiest horror road nightmare he could dream up.
No,Gunnar was taking some artistic license there…sadly out of all those,I only worked on The Pest hahaha…[shocked][:/]

I just saw some piece about Diamond Dallas Page…he does extreme yoga out of his house where he lives with Jake the Snake Roberts…you can’t make this stuff up…
Yeah, I was just throwing random films in there. I have no idea what’s really on Queer’s resume. But, yeah, I’d rather WATCH an unaired pilot to a Latin soap opera (in Latin, nonetheless) 500 times in a row, then ever watch 5 minutes of “The Pest” again.
